I really really want a minimalist kitchen, so I started googling images. OMG. I am almost orgasmic over the stuff that is out there that I cannot afford Shock

OOOoh but it is soooo lovely Envy

YANBU for reading kitchen porn. We finally have my (almost) dream kitchen after 3 years of imagining and longing. (I say almost because it would be perfect if it were in a victorian country house, arse-end of nowhere with views of only fields and woodlands.........sigh)

However, YABU for lusting after something that hideous :o

That looks like a school kitchen, OP!

Grin

I am sick of years of mess. I want clean lines, shiney surfaces, everything hidden away.

I hear ya on the clean lines thing (my manner is something akin to Eddie on Ab Fab......"I need surfaces darling, surfaces" :o )

I have clean lines and spent literally hours if not days planning the kitchen (because every designer I came across just wanted to put shit loads of cupboards everywhere for the sake of a massive commission).

However, it is all wood, granite, free standing furniture, underfloor heating, mood lighting and my ultimate pleasure: a laundry "cupboard" (no sodding wasted space on a utility room.......just a cupboard hiding stacking washing machine/dryer and all cleaning stuff on adjacent shelves).

Are you actually in the market for a kitchen then? As in, actively planning? Or are you just indulging a "need"? :o

Tulpe... I am in the market, baby, in the market Grin

DP asked if I wanted a new dream kitchen or a dream wedding..........I'm not married Grin

thenightsky · 20/02/2011 21:49

why... a kitchen lasts a lot longer than a wedding day.
