to want to know what nappy bag you have?

I had a beautiful one with my Silver Cross (yes it is I that hogs the pavement). However the living came away and it went a bit crap.

My mother then bought me a large overnight bag with a kooky red and pink owl print. Then my friend broke the zip on it.

Just been on Ebay looking at "Yummy Mummy" bags and they're so beautiful.

So out of curiosity and a bit of advice, what nappy bag did/do you use?

A pink Radley one. I bought a very boring black one in Mothercare when pg. DD2 came along and I saw this thing of beauty in an outlet place and snapped it up. It was almost half price but still more than one needs to spend on a changing bag.

I'm a Radley addict, mind you, so really I was just buying a bag to match my purse [justifying spend to DH emoticon]

BrandyAlexander · 20/02/2011 21:02

I have a yummy mummy one. I did buy DH another bag (more manly ifyswim) but he isn't that bothered now and just uses mine when he takes DD out. I love my yummy mummy bag, btw, have had it a couple of years and still looks good despite all the abuse it gets!

TattyDevine · 20/02/2011 21:03

Ooh I've had loads. I'm getting beyond nappy bag age (kids are I mean)...

I've had a Kaboodle one, two Pink Lining ones, a posh leather one who's brand escapes me, an Angels with Dirty Faces one, and two OiOi ones Blush

Its not that I ever really used the mat or bits and bobs that went with them, I just like the big spacious waterproofness of them and they usually hang well on a buggy too.

Hmm.

PigValentine · 20/02/2011 21:03

I have an Angels With Dirty Faces cowboy print one. I coveted it my whole pregnancy with DS2, but couldn't justify spending £60 on a bag. Happily, my leaving gift at work was £100 John Lewis vouchers Smile

It is an oilskin one, so very hard wearing - it is over a year old now, and still looks immaculate. More roomy than you would think too. ALthough the changing mat that comes with it is really tiny here

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 20/02/2011 21:10

I've got this Lin and Leo bag

I'm pg with no 3 and never bothered with a changing bag before, this time I was of the opinion that this will be my last time and I WILL have a proper changing bag.

It is pricey but I also think £60+ for a nylon bag is taking the piss, so I went the whole hog and asked for a leather bag!

BusyMissIzzy · 20/02/2011 21:18

This one. Love it.

catinboots · 20/02/2011 21:18

pink lining

stressheaderic · 20/02/2011 21:25

I have this one
Tiny Tilia
and it's been ace.
DD is one now so I have to cart around all manner of snacks, beakers, toys, books etc - this bag does the job nicely.

missfairlie · 20/02/2011 21:34

I have a storksak Emily. I really don't like pink lining - think they are a bit tacky looking, but then I am really not into the whole nappy bag thing - I like Storksak because it doesn't look like a nappy bag I suppose...

breatheslowly · 20/02/2011 22:04

Pacapod and it is so heavy, even with nothing in it. It pulls over the buggy unless DD is in the buggy. I end up using a rucksack and sling mostly.

PatriciaHolm · 20/02/2011 22:09

A small black rucksack. Never considered buying a dedicated nappy bag tbh.

Fumblina · 20/02/2011 22:12

I have this

and

this

tbh I thought the pacapod would be more practical but in reality the pods take up much of the bag space so I get in, feeding stuff (am weanng atm), and nappy stuff and a change of clothes, my purse/phone and thats it. And the lining is ripped 3 months later. (Bought it when DD was 6 months) Oh and I find the pods tricky to get in and out so generally I don't bother and just grabs the bits I need from each as and when.

With the other used to get in nappy stuff, phone, purse, change of clothes, wrap sling, reflux meds, food, toy and loads of other stuff. And still as good as new. Actually going to use this again

MsFC · 20/02/2011 22:13

I have a storksak one too, here

berri · 20/02/2011 22:27

I have a black & White OiOi one, love it, still looks the same as it did when I bought it 18m ago. On the outside at least....

beanlet · 20/02/2011 22:29

Pacapod - totally awesome. The pods are so cleverly designed - I love the fact that you can hold the baby in one arm, the change pod in the other and pull the change mat out and lay it down with one hand, without spilling nappies all over the place. But I have to admit to occasionally just putting the change mat, wipes and nappies into my ordinary handbag when I'm only going to be out a couple of hours. Still a super investment.

bubbleymummy · 20/02/2011 22:32

We just used a little rucksack for spare nappies/clothes - fitted easily with sling and comfy to carry with a baby :)

"I was asking if I was being unreasonable to dig around peoples' affairs

Move along if you have nothing to contribute hmm"

No you fucking weren't - you were using aibu to ask an utterly mundane question that has no element of aibu at all. You aren't being reasonable or unreasonable, just shoving your tedious question into a high traffic forum when it belongs in 'chat' or 'boring nappy based questions' sections. Hmm

scottishmummy · 20/02/2011 23:17

Alexandra Bee Sophia good for straight to work from nursery.not mumsy at all

lin & leo great bag

scottishmummy · 20/02/2011 23:25

peering youre not moderator of what and where folk post so wind your neck in stop being so obnoxious about posts

face it if one were to apply the thats tedious post benchmark to mn then a fair whack of posts would fall short of intellectual and witty riposte

igetmorelovefromthecat · 20/02/2011 23:30

I started off with the free boots one but found it too small for all my crap, so I splashed out on a gorgeous Pink Lining Yummy Mummy one.

I LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! It makes me happy every time I see it and I always get complete strangers telling me how lovely it is (they used to do it about my baby but now the focus seems to be on my bag!). It was pricey but I think as I will be using it every day for at least the next two years it's a sound investment.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 21/02/2011 07:18

Bloody hell Peering, you need to go to bed earlier. Late nights don't agree with you.

controlpantsandgladrags · 21/02/2011 07:29

I started off with the silver cross one, progressed onto a Juju BePrepared when I had 2 in nappies, and now have a [[http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PINK-LINING-NAVY-BOWS-SATCHEL-BABY-CHANGING-NAPPY-BAG-/250736907348?pt=UK_Baby_Baby_Changing_Nappy_Changing_Bags&hash=item3a61159454 Pink Lining one].

controlpantsandgladrags · 21/02/2011 07:30

oops. pink lining one

ChocolateBrownieGuilt · 21/02/2011 07:46

I totally dont get nappy bags particularly those massive things that get strung over the back of prams. I've never had more than a monkeyfoot wet bag (less than A4 size) with a few things in. That can go into my larger handbags on under pram.

what have you got inside them ladies?

ChocolateBrownieGuilt · 21/02/2011 07:46
  • or under pram
