to want to know what nappy bag you have?

I had a beautiful one with my Silver Cross (yes it is I that hogs the pavement). However the living came away and it went a bit crap.

My mother then bought me a large overnight bag with a kooky red and pink owl print. Then my friend broke the zip on it.

Just been on Ebay looking at "Yummy Mummy" bags and they're so beautiful.

So out of curiosity and a bit of advice, what nappy bag did/do you use?

Wow, it's beautiful. See I'd pay that for a handbag no questions asked, but not for a nappy bag. You are either insane or on a much higher income than I am. It's lovely, but not what I'd want rusks crushed into.

I didn't bother with one until dd was 6 months, just shoved nappies in handbag. Now I have to cart toys around etc I have bought a large pacapod. I do love it, but the main section might not be big enough for cloth nappies, which is something I didn't think about at the time.

But looking at that leather one, it has a removable and washable lining so quite practical really... I don't personally like that style of bag but I wouldn't be put off it by thoughts of it being ruined - if it's nice quality leather it will withstand lots of abuse and still look good.

An Anya Hindmarch one. Has a detachable large nappy pouch that I just use now that DD is older.

I have a green leather pink lining bag, it's lovely and doesn't look like a changing bag.

Whatever bag I bought would have rusks crushed into it, you just have to be careful and get it insured with your credit card and home contents.

Ealingkate · 20/02/2011 19:07

I had this in black and I loved all the little pockets and liked the fact that it didn't look like a nappy bag. They do lots of other nice ones too.

sanam2010 · 20/02/2011 19:08

I just use one of the MUJI travel bags, they're perfect size and only cost sth like 6 quid

Mrsmackie · 20/02/2011 19:09

Cath Kidston floral number - love it!

LadyOfTheManor · 20/02/2011 19:11

Mackie, yes I was just scouting the CK rose bag out. Lovely. Just not very big! Is it just me that has to pack for a weekend every time I leave the house?

With the blue puschair the one that came with it. The green one a lovely Little Company Lime green one with a zip off cool bag bit at the bottom. I've also used this as a flight bag, swimming bag and for picnics

I have a Ladybird Sammies which was my favourite , another cream Little Company bag, and a flight bag I used for a while

Lord of the Manor - you're right it's not massive, especially once the matching changing mat is in it. I am however more efficient this time around so tend to carry the minimum number of nappies etc. Think it will be more challenging once ds is older and needs snacks, toys etc in it. But it's very pretty!

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 20/02/2011 19:16

I have a jujube beall. I love it and it's the most expensive bag I've ever bought. I even have a purse to match it but I'm very Angry that I can't have a lot of the other matching accessories because they won't ship to the UK. Bastards.

LadyOfTheManor · 20/02/2011 19:16

Lord indeed Hmm

Grin @ mirrored bits, I'm considering heading into one of the earth mother alternative shops and having a gander actually. Just no tie dye for me.

treated myself to a posh change bag when DD2 was born - I have this Skip Hop bag. The best thing is it clips onto the back of the pushchair so doesn't dangle down in DD2's face! It's very pretty too.

I must say I hate the yummy mummy ones. No offence, but the term 'yummy mummy' makes me cringe so why would I want it emblazoned on a bag?!

Mrsmackie · 20/02/2011 19:32

God Sorry - LADY of the manor!! I'm sleep deprived with a newborn feeding as I type!!

LadyOfTheManor · 20/02/2011 19:45

You're forgiven Grin

I use a black Samsonite messenger style one

It's brill and has loads of compartments for DS's shedloads of crap essential bits

It cost about £40

allsquareknickersnofurcoat · 20/02/2011 20:16

I use the silver cross one that came with the pram (I'm hogging the pavement too Blush) if I'm going anywhere far away or for a long time, or just a large divided handbag for day to day use

YANBU Wink

PurpleCrazyHorse · 20/02/2011 20:22

A Timberland record bag (belonging to DH), it's waterproof, adjustable strap, fits our reusable nappies, separate compartment for spare clothes and DH doesn't mind carrying it around Grin

LadyOfTheManor · 20/02/2011 20:44

Ah yes, I didn't consider dh in all of this.

I got outbid on the Yummy Mummy bag, so that's probably for the best.

Hmm I have a Samsonite laptop bag which has lasted forever, perhaps that's a wise investment?!
