I have 3 lovely children whom are happy (mostly), but myself and my husband have both experienced and are experiencing mental health problems.

Its been hard for a very long time for us both tho we are well liked / loved in our own wee circles.

I feel like a failure.

Aibu? / too hard on myself?

In a word - yes.

If you have 3 lovely, happy children then how can you be a failure?

YABU and way too harsh on yourself :)

Mental illness must be as any other illness - ie 'normal', it happens, so you don't need to be hard on yourself or feel like a failure. It's not the same as saying that it's not tough on you all and that you may feel sorry for yourself at times (we all do).

Rely on your friends and family. The good bits are GOOD and value them! Grown up life isn't for wimps!

being a grown up is not for wimps.

you DO feel ashamed tho having mental illness its as if somwhow you are admitting you are lesser if you admit it Hmm tho I wouldnever think that of someone else!!!
