Why is she shrieking and roaring like she's having some sort of stoon? At 0.42 I nearly threw my mint julep all over myself Shock.

Why do people appear to think that volume equals talent?

Why the ridiculous affected Xtina/Mariah facial tics and hand gestures? And the soulful gazing off into the middle distance that actually looks like constipation .

It's just seems so incredibly forced and fake and brattish.

Ick.

I got as far as 0.51....DS2 jumped and said "Mummy me don't like that noise its scary" he is 3yrs old Grin

HarlotOTara · 18/02/2011 18:03

Absolutely awful - all that shouting - what is the world coming to.

HowFuckingRude · 18/02/2011 18:05

She actually has a very good voice when she isn't screaming, that is just so utterly distracting Shock

Did she also write the song?

MoonGirl1981 · 18/02/2011 18:06

Oooooo, fuck me!!

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 18/02/2011 18:06

arf!
Have heard more tuneful tone deaf dogs.

psychoveggie · 18/02/2011 18:08

She's just a kid. Try aiming your vitriol at Cowell et al. She might not be fantastic just now but she's obviously got a voice that can A. sing in tune and B. carry as it's very powerful.

squeakytoy · 18/02/2011 18:21

fucking hellllllll my ears!!!!

the dog just jumped three feet off the sofa and ran upstairs!

Tigerbomb · 18/02/2011 18:21

I am so glad they don't live next to me - imagine all that noise and screaming

ShatnersBassoon · 18/02/2011 18:24

She's brilliant! It is supposed to be funny, isn't it?

errr no I think she is serious....Hmm

Alambil · 18/02/2011 18:37

oh dear Hmm

all her bobbing around is doing my head in!

HighHeidYin · 18/02/2011 18:39

Extremely irritating. dd3 and dd4 thought it was hysterical Grin

HecateQueenOfWitches · 18/02/2011 18:40

Gave me a bit of a fright when she suddenly screamed Grin oh, bless her.

I blame christina aguithingie and the like Grin

Let's not mean mean guys, she's only a baby yet.

CalamityKate · 18/02/2011 18:41

Ugh.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 18/02/2011 18:43

Let's not BE mean, that should say. Grin

at the end of the day, she is only a child and clearly heavily influenced by screamy pop stars.

BunnyLebowski · 18/02/2011 18:44

Nope Shatners totally and utterly serious unfortunately Hmm.

As a parent how do you produce a kid like that?? Is it an American thing?

There seems to be a phenomenon of pushy parents telling their kids they'll be the next Justin Bieber/Lindsay Lohan/Britney. And 10 years down the line they'll most likely be totally effed up and in rehab. Why would you encourage that for your wee one?

What happened to natural talent? (Adele at the Brits for example putting Rihanna et al to shame with her pared down incredibleness. The hairs on the back of my neck had hairs on the backs of their necks!)

HighHeidYin · 18/02/2011 18:44

True hecate. If she sung as a little girl, and not a shrieking mariah-wannabe, she would probably be very good.

Better than me anyway (but that's not saying a lot....)

MotherOfSuburbia · 18/02/2011 18:59

My DS just said, "If she carries on shouting like that her Mummy will come and tell her to be quiet."
Followed by DS1 saying "Maybe she'll grow up and become a very shouty teacher."

I can't abide all that warbly singing we hear at the moment. I'm sure she's got a very pretty voice really.

cornslik · 18/02/2011 19:02

bet her mum's on a G&T thread right now

missismonky · 18/02/2011 19:15

That got my cat off the sofa anyway. Grin

StuffingGoldBrass · 18/02/2011 19:20

Poor little sod. Poor little sod. If she has any musical talent (which is not impossible, that voice is moderately tuneful and has some power) it will be squashed out of her by the Cowell Machine which will turn her into a paedo's wet dream and give her shitty bland covers to sing... in 20 years time she'll have been through rehab and producing dark Polly Harvey type albums that no fucker will buy.

pigletmania · 18/02/2011 19:20

I agree she is not that good tbh, I have heard so much better, think 12 year old Farrel Smith who was on Britains Got Talent a few years ago, now she was awsome, and of course Charlotte Church when she was 11.

taintedpaint · 18/02/2011 19:21

To be fair, she's much better , but she's bloody awful in Bunny's one. That's one fucking scary noise she's making!

headfairy · 18/02/2011 19:26

Dreadful, why do people insist on singing in such a ridiculous affected way? :o
