I often cook late at night - when else is there? I have just made Nigella's 'Chef's Salad' for lunches tomorrow. Nom nom nom.
Shredded iceburg, sweetcorn, smoked ham cubes, grated emmental and chunks of avocado with a dressing made of dijon mustard, olive oil, white wine vinegar and salt. Easy and yummy.

What's your chocolate crunch like? Is it proper (like school) chocolate crunch? Link to the recipe?? Pretty please.

this is the one i use, i take it out 5 minutes before it is done so it don't go rock hard.

I wish I cooked late at night (or ever Blush ) This time of night I have usually just stopped all necessary stuff and when insomniac, mess about on computer!

candleshoe · 16/02/2011 23:39

Hello again Catnao!! Hope your DS is in bed now and not still reading!

I might start an insomniac cooking club on MN...

I work nights so often on the days I'm not working (or on the nights I'm not working to be more precise), I will often get up in the middle of the night and start to prepare the next evening's dinner.. Problem is DH gets woken up by these lovely cooking smells wafting through the house and then he can't go back to sleep again until he's come down to sample a small bowl..!

auntiepicklebottom thanks to you i ended up making pancakes at 4am this morning!!! I didn't have any cake cases to make the fairy cakes you put me in the mood for....

midlandsmumof4 · 16/02/2011 23:46

OH works shifts. I very often cook this time of night when he's on 2-10. Or maybe re-heat Smile. Tonight I 'cooked' braised steak with onion & mushroom gravy with baby potaoes & carrots. We had it earlier.lovely.

candleshoe - We could maybe do an internet "messing about on the internet and thinking sod it, I WILL have a glass of wine even though I have to be up frighteningly soon" thread? Grin

my son packed the book in at 10.40 when it dropped from his hand onto the floor from bed!

AuntiePickleBottom · 17/02/2011 00:46
