Posing for pics this morning. He fell asleep. I put him down in his cot but I need to go out now. Normally in this situation Id gently squeeze him into the pram and sneak out the door without waking him.

However we have the problem of the elf suit hes wearing.... Is this the baby equivalent of going to tesco in your pyjamas?

as long as he doesn't poo in it at the pub!

Well yes and no.

Babies get a special dispensation from the "no pyjamas in public" rule. It's done to tie in with the "being pushed around the shops in your bed" custom.

As much as we might want to, adults are not allowed to be pushed around the supermarket in a mobile bed having a snooze in their 'jamies.

Elf suits come under the "cute" amendment to the "parents taking me out looking silly" regulation, so they are OK. Please note though that this would not apply if you had dressed him up as any kind of round object - pudding, pumpkin, football.

YANBU, however, be prepared for old ladies cooing and possibly trying to touch him.

If you put a blanket over him, I doubt anyone would notice :)

Hes 25. Not really, although I am going to change him because hes woken up. I feel abit sad now. I might have to dress him in it JUST to take him out ;-)
