As for Heather, I can well imagine it to be true to life. My DH is on £28k, 3 DSs so £200 child benefit, few more hundred maybe tax credit and we struggle beyond belief. Leaving George- moment of madness, running away. Veg - pride, like puting back the money when she saw there was no Employer of the Month thing and Patrick was just trying to give her money.

I think the point of that episode is that shes also a bit to dim to look after herself and getthe help she needs. I was gutted, what a rubbish episode (on mat leave so Eastenders has actually become something I look forward to)

I actually think this storyline is very good, and to me a lot more realistic and upsetting than the Kat/Ronnie thing.

And I think the point is that she has always tried so much with working etc to not want benefits and she is not totally sure how too because it has all spiralled to a crippling level :(

Isn't the point of all this to show how awful carbon monoxide poisoning is and what an effects it really has? She's been being poisoned for months by the boiler and is loosing her mind, becoming incapable of looking after herself and her child and not being able to work out what to do about it.

Freddy her boiler has'nt been on for weeeks because she has had no money for heating or electric.

I thought the point of the episode is that her friends are more trying to ease their own conscience as no one really gives her the time of day. Not really. She's the butt of jokes and always the first forgotten about

It's a load of crap. As if anyone would have put the money back in the till out of pride if they couldn't heat their home or eat. She put "pride" before her child's wellbeing (or she would have been if she existed)

It's getting more and more stupid. Heather would never hand George over to Darren for the night, unless she had no roof over her head and George was on the streets. While she is staying at Shirley's and Phil isn't there, she would keep George with her.

Stupid, pathetic story line, to allow her to go out on the piss with Shirl.

I used to think EE was realistic and thought through (like when Martin went off the rails as a teenager..I though, well yes, boys with out a male role model may well do that) But these mother story lines are CRAP...obviously there are no mothers planning the scripts theses days.
