He's older than one. Not that it's real but my ds is one in 2 weeks and gave birth when I was pregnant...so he must be between one and 18 months. Still he can eat cabbage.

Of course it is reality for some people. Council houses are not remotely free and having waiting lists of 10 years in some places. If she is working she might not be entitled to help with rent and ocuncil tax.

It doesn't need to be as bad as it is though, I think the idea that she doesn't know what help she can get is probably right. I know at least with CT you can get into pay £5 a week type agreements.

If she was starving her pride wouldn't come into it. She'd probably live off her own "storage" before starving to death. I don't know a woman who wouldn't accept free food if it meant her child wouldn't "starve" to death.
