LadyOfTheManor · 16/02/2011 20:11

that was @lotkins. Not to the camel reference.

LynetteScavo · 16/02/2011 20:12

"I'm not fully aware about benefits, but I'm sure council houses are practically free"

hahahahahahahah...practically free to people who have sweet FA.

loopylou6 · 16/02/2011 20:12

And what's that sposed to mean lady?

LadyOfTheManor · 16/02/2011 20:13

What is what supposed to mean?

loopylou6 · 16/02/2011 20:14

What had heather being fat got to do with anything

LynetteScavo · 16/02/2011 20:15

From what I can tell, Heather lives in privately rented acomodation...and form what I've been told there is a long waiting list for council accommodation, and Heather and George would probably spend a long time in a B&B where they would be allowed a kettle but not a toaster, should they find themselves needing to apply.

LadyOfTheManor · 16/02/2011 20:15

Try reading the posts and you'll see it was in reference to her starving to death overnight.

Lotkinsgonecurly · 16/02/2011 20:16

Am sniggering now LOTM. Are you having a Wine yet? Its just that time.

I really can't understand why she doesn't go to weight watchers there's a great venue in the community centre. If she went to her GP she would get free sessions.

reelingintheyears · 16/02/2011 20:17

And she would still have a gas and electric meter to pay.
And if they run out and you're broke then you go without.

LadyOfTheManor · 16/02/2011 20:17

SHe can be as fat as she likes, but she isn't going to starve overnight because she didn't get free veg from Billy. Let's be honest, she'd survive a little while longer than George. Or Kate Moss.

reelingintheyears · 16/02/2011 20:18

Is weight watchers free then?
Slimming world is a £5 a week.

Lotkinsgonecurly · 16/02/2011 20:19

Still struggling with the storyline that Darren is the father and a suitable place for her son.
Don't understand why she hasn't moved in with Shirley or asked her for help.

StarlightPrincess · 16/02/2011 20:20

Do you need a deposit? Yep, you do need a deposit for council accommodation, we had to pay a week's rent.

Yes, they are considerably cheaper than private rental, but it's not really the point if you don't have much money in the first place.

loopylou6 · 16/02/2011 20:20

Ooooo you're a snotty one aint ya Hmm

StarlightPrincess · 16/02/2011 20:21

Who me?

Puffykins · 16/02/2011 20:22

She didn't move in with Shirley because Phil banned her. And she's forever going to Shirley, and Shirley is forever bailing her out - the latest is that job number 3 is for Shirley, doing their cleaning, as Shirley said that Heather had to do something for the fact that Shirley was basically giving her money every single week. I think she must only do two hours a week for her though, as Shirley gave her £30 in yesterday's episode and that was for two weeks.

reelingintheyears · 16/02/2011 20:22

Or me?

loopylou6 · 16/02/2011 20:22

nooooo LOTM

TheLadyEvenstar · 16/02/2011 20:22

IT'S NOT REAL

But why oh why did Darren have to be the father?
And someone tell me why did nobody notice baby Tommy had developed a club foot after his death and baby James' one disappeared?

reelingintheyears · 16/02/2011 20:23

Phew.

StarlightPrincess · 16/02/2011 20:23

Ohhhh right I was a bit Confused for a minute! Smile

ScramVonChubby · 16/02/2011 20:23

How much cheaper theya re avries; back home Muma dn dad pay only £30 less than going rate and ended up funding all thier own carpets etc and proper heating long before council did it- stuff we in private rented can get covered by LL (and no tehy don;t get HB and yes they do work - housing very different in seventies when they were housed to now)

In some areas there are 30,000 people on a waiting list anyway and somwone with one child who is working would be unlikely to be deemed in need enough to ever reach the top- generally elderly people, disabled people, women escaping DV etc are the only ones who stand a chance in hell of being housed.

LaWeaselMys · 16/02/2011 20:24

Actually a fat person would die as quickly from malnutrition as anyone else. I have heard that is one of the risks of very overweight people losing weight very quickly. It puts a huge strain on the heart amongst other things and makes them equivalent to an anorexic person in terms of health risk.

Puffykins · 16/02/2011 20:25

Also, in terms of where Heather's money goes . . .. She spends a fair bit on buying outfits for George from the market, and I think she also eats quite a lot of takeaways from Ian's fish and chip shop. Or maybe that was just when she and Shirley were sharing a flat together.
I don't imagine that she earns much in the laundrette - I think she only does a couple of shifts a week, I guess at Basic Minimum Wage, and the same in the corner shop for Patrick.
And I don't think that budgeting is one of Heather's fortes.

MummieHunnie · 16/02/2011 20:27

Heather's clothes would be more expensive, due to extra cloth, and less shops selling her size, along with the fact her food addiction will be costing her more money than a size 10 person. I know this as I am not a skinnyminny myself
