to not go to work tomorrow

Had one of my wisdom teeth out on Saturday. Face still swollen, can't eat properly because it hurts and generally feel poo. I work 3 days, so tomorrow would be first sick day.

Dh thinks I should stay off, but I feel really guilty. I'm a teacher and when I told cover lady about this 2 weeks ago she tutted and said she was back in work the next day when she had hers out.

YANBU

If you feel like poo then you will be doing your pupils a disservice by attempting to teach them.

Cannot abide others who feel the need to regale you with tales of their own superior coping methods....!

Well good for her, she sounds like a wanker. I'd take the day off (and I'm the same as you about taking sick days) but tooth pain is unbearable. Hope you feel better soon xx

Toothache is one of the worst pains you can't escape it. If your face is still swollen could you even speak properly to teach the children.

So what - differenct people experience the same thing in different ways!

I think you should go back to your dentist, it may have got infected - mine did and I was told off by my dentist!
