to be annoyed at Tesco?

I have bought Tesco Children's Chewable Multivitamins and Minerals for my children for ages but was annoyed that the ingredients on my last buy of 3 (they were on special offer) have changed without any warning. The vitamins are now 'yucky' (leave a horrid after-taste in the mouth). Tesco are now using the cheaper ferrous sulphate (the iron is not as easily absorbed) rather than the superior ferrous fumarate. Worryingly the new container says it is 'free from fish' and vegetarian although the previous line just said it was vegetarian. As fish are animals, saying a product is vegetarian AND fish free doesn't make sense. I will be really annoyed if the previous batches of vitamins did have fish in. Surely you need to show when you have put new ingredients in to an old line, especially when packet that looks exactly the same? What about allergies?

...I would contact some one in the HO and talk about it if you are that concerned.

Yep they have food too! They started on the vits one winter when I was especially concerned they had bug after bug and needed building up. Also listened to too many mummies asking me if they were ok as they had never eaten meat. Will just ignore them now! Surprisingly I ignored all the advice the Health Visitor gave me when she strongly advised to have oily fish when I was pregnant because it was essential for brain development. Never did and kids are both in top sets.

YABNU.

Tesco are annoying.

BuzzLiteBeer · 14/02/2011 19:12

It probably says free from fish because some morons think fish is vegetarian.

And if you don't like what is in them, don't buy them.

LadyOfTheManor · 14/02/2011 19:25

I agree with Buzz-if you dislike the ingredients, take them back, get a "quibble free" refund and buy something else from Holland & Barratt or another weird health shop.
