OMG has he gone on today!

DS is 3 and asked me to paint his finger nails red like mummys..... I did, he looks sweet, he is happy. NO BIG DEAL.

DH has coped a strop insisting its taken off as it will cause him gender confusion! And led to problems later on?! Problems??!!Hmm

Gender confusion why does this word make me laugh

Saltatrix · 13/02/2011 22:11

well not a word really, a phrase

reelingintheyears · 13/02/2011 22:13

Bit late to get the nail varnish remover out now...
Isn't DS asleep now??

Saltatrix · 13/02/2011 22:14

Reminds me of a time my mother made my brother (when he was 14) wear a dress because he has a slim build similar to the girl my mum had bought the dress for and she wanted to see how it fit.

My dad went hysterical and started fussing as though my brother was on his death bed.

Oh lord has DH gone on! Its only nail varnish! DS is 3 not 13!! And so what if he was!
The thing is if DS was a DD I bet DH wouldn't mind if she played with drills/hammers etc.

reelingintheyears true.....he will be going to nursery school tomorrow with red nails......and its swimming tomorrow at school so they will also see his red toes! Grin.......(runs off to read uniform policy)

Wait til DH is asleep and then paint his nails bright red.

That'll give him something to moan about! :o

WimpleOfTheBallet · 13/02/2011 22:30

Gender confusion! Tell him about my DDs classmate...the roughest toughest boy in her class...he is 6 and always has the remains of his weekend nail polish still visible on a Monday morning. He particularly likes electric blue because "Blue is for boys"

Believe me...nobody doubts his sexuality or his gender confidence!

tryingtobemarypoppins2 · 13/02/2011 22:36

teee heee I might just do that!

if you;re going to paint his nails go for something more subtle - I got DH one night with a sort of shimmery goldish colour. In his half asleep state he didn't actually spot it in the morning.................

TyraG · 14/02/2011 07:44

He's being an idiot. My DH didn't give two shits when DS wanted his nails painted. I painted mine then DD's and DS didn't want to be left out. Once he chose blue, then green, but I'd even do them pink or purple if he wanted them (he likes green and blue). He did get teased at pre-school, but I told him it was because the other boy (school aged) was jealous that his mom wouldn't paint his nails.
