because I seriously think I am going to have heart attack or a stroke due to the stress of bringing them up!!

Picture this - one relatively routine day day in my life as a parent...........

Twin DCs birthday today - they are 9 but they still wake us up at 4.00am to show us the presents I wrapped up 6 hours earlier FFS. 5.00am - baby DC wakes and launches into full screaming mode for a feed. 7.00am - desperately try to get notoriously lazy, slow DCs ready to get to school on time without screaming and shouting at them to hurry up as it's their birthday {hmm].

Spend the whole afternoon labouring away on putting up 12ft trampoline in garden (in the friggin rain) which is twins 'big surprise' for when they come in from school.

DD (14) texts me at 2.00pm (from a friends phone) to tell me that she has (another) after school detention this afternoon. This is not the first time she's done this but I won't go into her bad behaviour at school and generally disgusting attitude as that is a whole other thread. Now this morning she was told that she HAD to get out of school quickly as we were going straight to the cinema after school (after a quick nip home to see twins 'surprise')and then out to eat. Found out later she was told about the detention on Tuesday Hmm. I text back that she must be out of school by 3.40 then while steams starts coming out of my ears.

I wait outside her school for 30 mins (too far away for her to walk) before she waltzes out at 4.10pm which is the time that the film we were to see starts. She could not text me herself as because she has been taking her 2 month old Blackberry into the bath with her to message her friends (she is glued to the dame thing), she got it wet and then put it on her radiator to dry Hmm so it won't work now.

My Dh took them all the cinema as I decided that if I went with them, I might strangle her as she has ruined the twins birthday treat (they probably missed the beginning of the film and when they get back it will be too dark to go on the trampoline) and they had to put up with me sreaming and shouting at her in the car Sad.

Just finished feeding baby DS and he decided to sneeze all over me when he had a mouthful of mush so am currently covered in lemon chicken with sweetcorn and tarragon.

AIBU to wish I'd ignored my maternal instincts and got a dog or even a goldfish instead?

How can you be so angry and so funny all at once? When I got to the lemon chicken with sweetcorn and tarragon baby explosion I just couldn't stop laughing. [guilt emoticon]

Here, have some Wine. It'll all be over in 18 years or so.

Gleekfreak · 11/02/2011 17:42

You're proper posh mummy-mush with tarragon! :o

Whatnamechange · 11/02/2011 17:44

Yes, you are being unreasonable although I kind of see why:)
DH and I would have given anything to have children. Count your blessings.

backwardpossom · 11/02/2011 18:18

Sorry for laughing, but I can't help it. Feel for you, have a nice Wine tonight and try to see the funny side...

What Kitsichick said

Alouiseg · 11/02/2011 18:41

Op, if Id have had my dog first I'd have never had children the dog is rewarding, obedient (ish) cute, self cleaning, great appetite, loyal and endearing.

verytellytubby · 11/02/2011 18:43

As a fellow twin mum I feel your pain. Please please have some Wine

At least you have kept your humour, your post did make me giggle.

Bumperlicious · 11/02/2011 18:44

I'd opt for a cactus at this stage.

Sorry about your day. Hope the twins had a nice treat.
