Dc's teacher has just updated her FB status saying that her class aren't taking her seriously because she is dressed as 'where's Wally' (its world book day). How on earth can she be teaching and on FB at the same time!?!

Isn't it break time now?

FabbyChic · 11/02/2011 10:51

She is clearly using her phone, bad form I agree.

scurryfunge · 11/02/2011 10:51

I suppose it could be at break time. If not, then she is very unprofessional.

OhForBoonessSake · 11/02/2011 10:51

break time.

GloriaSmut · 11/02/2011 10:52

Might it be break time?

Not that I'm overly happy with anyone updates their FB status with detailed work stuff, tbh. I know someone in the Ambulance Service who does this and one day there will be a mighty kerfuffle when someone recognises themself.

TobyLerone · 11/02/2011 10:52

I don't think that many teachers with their pupils' parents as fb friends would be stupid enough to update their status during lesson time. Must be break time.

Memoo · 11/02/2011 10:53

Its definitely wasn't break time when she did it. They have break 10:00 til 10:20 and she updated at after that.

She might have some non contact time, but it is sad that she feels the need to post such inane shit on fb. Soon people will be putting 'breathed in then breathed out' on their fb status updates!

Memoo · 11/02/2011 10:55

Toby, I was a TA in the school until I had my DC3 so his teacher is my colleague, we have been fb friends for a couple of years and she only just became DS's teacher in Septmeber.

Just out of interest, is Dc's teacher a friend of yours in Facebook?

OhForBoonessSake · 11/02/2011 10:55

why are you friends with your child's teacher on FB?

OhForBoonessSake · 11/02/2011 10:55

xpost gloria.

JamieLeeCurtis · 11/02/2011 10:56

Depressing that a teacher would want to post inane crap on FB, IMVHO

GloriaSmut · 11/02/2011 10:56

Sorry, cross posted.

OhForBoonessSake · 11/02/2011 10:57

i agree, it is a bit depressing taht she feels the need to go straight on FB when her class are playing up. why does every thought have to be public??

Memoo · 11/02/2011 10:58

I might casually mention it to her later, see what she says.

Bad form for the school to not have a blanket mobile phone ban!

Sarsaparilllla · 11/02/2011 11:01

I don't think a teacher should be updating anything about their work on fb tbh and I think it's a bit daft and unprofessional of them to have students parents as friends on there as well

My mum's a teacher and they were advised to have their fb profiles completely private and definitely not to add parents/kids

WimpleOfTheBallet · 11/02/2011 11:01

I think it's a symptom of how much social networking has changed our world tbh.

It's not good and I would complain quite seriousy. BUt honestly you shouldn't even be able to SEE her FB status imo.

Memoo · 11/02/2011 11:02

Sarsa, we were fb friends before she became DS's teacher.

It's not World Book Day here...wher are you?

Memoo · 11/02/2011 11:03

OWuld you really complain Wimple, not sure I want to get her in to trouble. If I mention it it might make her realise.

Actually might comment on her status and that might make her think
