to wonder if there is an ethical/moral problem with selling, say, your shoes on eBay for fetishists?

I have just been discussing that webcam/escorting thread with DP, and while I don't feel that doing that is a terribly good idea, and goes against my own principles, he asked me if I thought that selling shoes on eBay for inflated prices knowing they were being bought by fetishists was the same thing...I don't think it is. I've never done it, but I can't say I object to it, as I don't care what somebody does with the shoes once they've bought them. It's not like they are objectifying me, or women even, so is it just as bad?

What do you all think?

I'm sure I read somewhere about being aware that people can request details from paypal therefore they could potentially find out where you live?

Disclaimer I may have fallen into the trap of 'internet weirdos can find out everything.'

I think it was on MSE but could be wrong

I put a pair of heels on eBay for sale, took pic of my foot in them to demonstrate and a bloke messaged to say I had beautiful feet and could he buy pictures of them for his collection. Eew.

I've never heard of this before, and use ebay regularly.

Just been having a look on ebay, to see how its done:

We had stinky selling shoe thread here a few yrs ago , we all put skany shoes , well worn with flattened backs ,photographed with a foot in them.
I sold a fewpairs for not very much.

We were all spurred on by someone getting loads of dosh for worn red or dead high heeled boots.

A few years ago lots of MN-ers had a competition to see who could sell the mankiest pair of shoes to fetishists on ebay - until one made a fatal mistake and put 'collect in person' as the postal/freight option, and then panicked.

ashamedandconfused · 11/02/2011 17:37

I have some very stinky old shoes and slippers and HAVE thought about this when I became aware of the ebay listings, but would not do it because of the buyer finding out your address

dont want some prevy stalker!

ashamedandconfused · 11/02/2011 17:37

IN general, foot/shoe fetishists are not aggressive people. THey tend to be very polite, actually. Of course, there's bound to be a few nutters, but then you might attract nutters if you were selling Tupperware.
