To think that sweetening with fruit juice concentrate is a con?

Looking at baby food lots say "no added sugar, only sweetened with fruit juice concentrate" or similar. Isn't concentrated fruit juice pretty much the same thing as sugar syrup and there is no point being snobby about sugar but then feeding this to your baby?

YABU. The sugar will be primarily fructose which isn't as bad for you as glucose syrup, table sugar, high fructose corn syrup etc. It will also have vitamins in it. I do agree though that you are probably better off not giving your children sweetened things at all.

YANBU. Fruit juice concentrate contains glucose and sucrose (a disaccharide of glucose and fructose) as well as fructose.

Fructose is not inherently "better for you" than glucose. It's just sweeter, so you don't need as much.
