I know it's a bit odd but i am a teacher and usually hate parents evening. I am always wary (paranoid) that they think i'm rubbish, that the wish they had another teacher (more than one form entry) or generally hate me!

This evening, following advice from another thread on here i picked up some tips from parents about what they wanted.

Whether it was that or not i don't know, but the parents were so supportive and kind.

So if you are one of the parents who thanks the class teacher and tell us ancedotes of what they children say about us. THANK YOU!

It's an epiphany! Parents aren't scary after all!

Hooray!

Hey Laura, that's a really nice post. Daft of me but had never thought teachers might get nervous about parents' evening!

I've had a lovely one too! Possibly because the previous teacher wasn't well loved, and they haven't had the chance to properly get to hate me yet...Grin
