To be annoyed with Spar about their policy on prams!

AIBU?

I was walking back from the beach with my dad, and I had my 3 month dd in a pram with us, and we popped into Spar to get some bits.

As I started walking round, I was told I couldnt push the pram round the store. She said I was blocking the isles and needed to leave the pram by the door. I was amazed! The shop doesn't have wide isles, but goes quite far from the door. Is it just me? I didn't feel comfortable about leaving her- I know it is unlikely that someone would take her, but very likely she'd cry if I walked off. What do they want me to do, leave her crying? I could kind of understand if the shop was packed but it wasn't. If they meant I should take her out the pram then how would I get my shopping.

I won't be shopping there again!

i've never had this problem in a spar either, i'd go somewhere else!! Tesco is very baby friendly.

I think they're a (sort of) franchise so it'll be up to the individual shop.

Vote with your wheels and just don't go in there.

As SPB said, what do they do about customers in wheelchairs - do they expect them to leave their wheelchairs at the door?

I'd also vote with my wheels, and shop somewhere else, while advising all of my fellow parents at mums & toddlers etc what the Spar's policy is Grin
