To Think This Is Vile and Abusive?

midori1999 · 08/02/2011 21:56

There's a debate on smacking on another forum I use and one of the posters has said, amongst other things, her parents used to put mustard on her tongue as a child as a punishment.

Am I over reacting in thinking this is on a par with washing a child's mouth out with soap and actually abusive?

I know this goes on. I know it does. Andwhat makes it all 100x worse is knowing that it goes on a fuck of a lot more than we ever see. It hurts Sad

Oh my god, that film actually made me feel sick. That poor poor little boy!! i couldnt watch it till the end that poor boy!

PaisleyLeaf · 09/02/2011 14:19

The mustard thing still goes on. There was a thread like this (I think within the last year) that turned foul as there was a poster who said thats what she does.

KnittedBreast · 09/02/2011 14:21

im not going to watch the clip.

ashamedandconfused · 09/02/2011 14:29

that clip has made me cry

poor poor boy, I will hug my little ones all the tighter when I get them from school

how can people do this stuff?

JimmyChooChoo · 09/02/2011 14:44

That awful video made me just hug my 2yr old DS1.If that's what the 'mother' has done to him on the off chance that her daughter has filmed this then it breaks my heart even more to think what else she does/has done to him when she isn't being filmed!
Is there anyway of finding out what has happened to the him?
I wish he could live with meSad

GypsyMoth · 09/02/2011 14:57

another one here hugging her own ds!!!

JimmyChooChoo · 09/02/2011 15:00

ILoveTiffany-things like this always make you want to just squeeze your dc and tell them that you love them(even though I do this anyway)!Smile

LaurieFairyCake · 09/02/2011 15:20

Poor woman, she seems really stuck in not knowing what to do.

It is very hard to cope with serious attachment issues and the resulting 'bad' behaviour that comes from it.

It doesn't seem like she has had a lot of support or training in dealing with this.

Hope she does from the Dr Phil show if the boy is remaining with her.

Underacheieving, what an excellent way of putting it. I've never really thought about it in those terms (just instinctively that physical punishment is wrong) but it makes so much sense put like that.

That video is horrible and the worst part is that the boy just takes it, obviously he has been through that many times before and knows exactly what to expect. I really hope he has found a loving home and isn't too screwed up by it all. Poor kid. She should have been prosecuted IMO.

gobehindabushfgs · 09/02/2011 15:34

I'm very surprised it isn't illegal to disseminate footage of a child being abused Shock

It's a disgusting punishment, definitely and unequivocally abusive, and the woman should get jail time IMO. And all her other children should be removed.

LaurieFairyCake · 09/02/2011 15:34

The family in the clip have stayed together - he is still with her according to t'internet.

Xales · 09/02/2011 15:35

OMG

I couldn't watch all of that!

Evil bitch!!!

JimmyChooChoo · 09/02/2011 15:36

Poor little boy staying with that bitch.
She won't change-I think she's a nasty control freak.

IWantToBeAFairyWhenIGrowUp · 09/02/2011 15:36

OMG - that poor little boy in the YouTube video

What an evil bitch - I hope someone rams hot sauce down her vile throat.

IWantToBeAFairyWhenIGrowUp · 09/02/2011 15:47

He is still with her :( but she has been charged and is going to court soon.

here

Gabyrale · 09/02/2011 16:00

How 'ironic' that she could be from a religion preaching love and forgiveness. This sort of punishment does nothing to 'discipline' a child. This is only going to create more problems. Evil cow.

Gabyrale · 09/02/2011 16:03

Actually, I think I would have liked it if he took off her glasses and sprayed that hot chili sauce in her eyes.

JimmyChooChoo · 09/02/2011 16:04

Why did she even adopt him?Silly cow.

booandbump · 09/02/2011 16:10

That made me cry I couldn't actually finish watching it.

Evil freak, she should be tortured herself Angry

belgo · 09/02/2011 16:19

That clip is horrible. The little boy is standing there terrified, and the way she keeps on asking him 'do we do that in this house' it's as if she was threatening to kick him out of the house. I hope he is happy now, where ever he is.

JimmyChooChoo · 09/02/2011 16:29

Belgo he is still living with herShock
