I'm told that the teeth-dissolving blob of luridly coloured, icing-like goo, wrapped in something that might once have been chocolate is a triumph of confectionery. Hmm I'm told it, but I don't believe it. AIBU?

How many calories in one?

FourFingeredKitkat · 07/02/2011 23:57

171 isn't it?

Rindercella · 08/02/2011 00:02

YANBU. They're fecking awful.

I remember years ago having toffee and mallow eggs (same sort of size as a cream egg) and they were bloody delicious. Can't seem to find them anymore though.

Missedagain · 08/02/2011 00:04

Rindecella - hmmm yes - did they split into halves?

A1980 · 08/02/2011 00:07

I love the things Grin

Rindercella · 08/02/2011 00:07

yes!

The closest I have found in the last few years is the toffee & mallow whips in M&S (as in walnut whips). Not quite the same though.

Galaxy used to do lovely truffle eggs (a bit like the Galaxy truffle in Celebrations), I don't know why they stopped doing them.

GMajor7 · 08/02/2011 09:45

YADNBU. Too sickly.

diddl · 08/02/2011 09:48

YANBU they are truly revolting.

The chocolate is bad enough-but the cack that´s inside!

FindingStuffToChuckOut · 08/02/2011 09:51

YANBU they are vile, oversweetened, yellow & white goo. I do like the caramel ones though.

purplefeet · 08/02/2011 10:02

YABU I love them.

DH and I were given a box of 48 one Easter - they lasted 5 days!

They are much too small though, I'd love a giant one.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 08/02/2011 11:03

They are too sickly-sweet for me, and the chocolate is sickly too.

Every time I eat one, I remember why I don't like them - but it doesn't stop me buying more the next time. I'm already wondering if I can make it to easter without buying one and cursing myself for it.

I could spend the money on chocolate that I enjoy - but I know I won't.

It's a sickness, I tell you.

propercrimbo · 08/02/2011 11:26

They are the work of the devil........

Butterbur · 08/02/2011 11:31

They are the work of the devil, but one of the more irresistible ones.

I can eat a box of 6 without pausing for breath. 8 is even better. God, that's my whole day's calories, gone in half an hour or less!

WishIWasRimaHorton · 08/02/2011 11:36

they are so gross they make my cheeks crawl

Quenelle · 08/02/2011 11:38

YABU They are most delicious when stuffed into the mouth whole.

OnEdge · 08/02/2011 11:41

A mate of mine once ate 18 in one afternoon, one after the other Shock They were her kids easter eggs, and she did a compulsive eating type thing and wolfed the lot.

IWantAnotherBaby · 08/02/2011 12:34

YABU; I love them. But as I'm trying to lose weight I am denying them to myself. Sad

CatIsSleepy · 08/02/2011 12:35

YANBU
they are pretty gruesome

CrystalStair · 08/02/2011 12:38

They are disgusting. Even my kids hate them. DD tried one, gagged violently and said the inside is like a gloopy banana anti-biotic she once had. No fans in this house.

Pinkjenny · 08/02/2011 12:38

I worked for Cadbury's (briefly) in 2000, and I remember them telling us during Induction that the Creme Egg as a product on it's own was worth more than Manchester United FC. Could have been codswallop, but it's always stuck with me.

Pinkjenny · 08/02/2011 12:39

its not it's

frgr · 08/02/2011 12:42

YABU

you clearly don't appreciate the teeth-aching sweetness as you should!

meantosay · 08/02/2011 12:47

Haven't read the whole thread so you could all be talking about global warming now but,

OP YANBU Creme Eggs are disgusting, over sugary vile looking shite.
