I'm told that the teeth-dissolving blob of luridly coloured, icing-like goo, wrapped in something that might once have been chocolate is a triumph of confectionery. Hmm I'm told it, but I don't believe it. AIBU?

YDBU, I love them!

Maud2011 · 07/02/2011 21:13

Chacun a son gout... don't see it's unreasonable not to like creme eggs but I'm glad you don't because that means more for me Grin

MrsChemist · 07/02/2011 21:14

YANBU, they are vile things.

BusyMissIzzy · 07/02/2011 21:17

YANBU to dislike them.

But I love them Grin In fact I've had to swear off them for a bit or else I'll turn into one never lose these last few lbs.

BakewellTarts · 07/02/2011 21:19

You are being completely reasonable...they are awful not even worthy of the name "chocolate".

justcarrots29 · 07/02/2011 21:20

People seem to either love them or hate them. I think they are.......ok. Not my first choice but not the last. That would be Ferro Rocher (first) and milky bar (Last).

If I could get hold of the McDonalds McFlurry Creme Egg sauce I would happily spread it on top of Creme Eggs and eat 'til I could eat no more Grin

BeeBox · 07/02/2011 21:55

YABU. I could eat two in a row easily.

sparkle1977 · 07/02/2011 21:56

YABU, I love them too, however I just eat the top, scoop out the inside with my fingers and then leave the rest of the choc as my fave is the gooey inside

DameEdnaBeverage · 07/02/2011 22:01

Yum - dip a kitkat in the fondant to have your own egg & soldiers Grin

iwanttolearn · 07/02/2011 22:21

Lifewouldn't be the same without them!

GloriaSmut · 07/02/2011 22:25

I was fairly horrified tonight, while filling the car with petrol, to see a fucking great sign stretched across the doorway of the garage shop. In whacking great letters it proclaimed: "1 January to 30 April - Creme Egg Season!"

There's now a 4 month official season for the vile things?

pointylug · 07/02/2011 22:37

they are like sweet gritty vom

kampakat · 07/02/2011 22:38

YABVVVVVVVVVVU
Creme Eggs are the food of the gods - especially if they have been frozen for a few hours before...then they last for ages...

cockneydad · 07/02/2011 23:03

mmm creme egg (dribble)

houseworkwhore · 07/02/2011 23:03

Yabu.. Me and dp have yearly competitrions on who can eat the most in one day..i am the current champion of 12 in one day..this year is going to prove interesting. We found creme egg ice cream in tesco earlier..sick buckets at the ready!!

LaurieFairyCake · 07/02/2011 23:06

I ate 3 in a row the other day

mrswishywashy · 07/02/2011 23:09

The American version is horrid.

The English one is bad.

The New Zealand one was proper and good until the buggers went and changed the recipie.

Creme eggs are now a fond memory of my childhood never to be had again. :(

GloriaSmut · 07/02/2011 23:13

Cripes! They don't do American versions, do they? Only American chocolate is ghastly to start with.

mrswishywashy · 07/02/2011 23:19

Yes they do have them in amercia cos I was so excited when I found them but they were disgusting. All Cadburys in America is made by Hershys and is disgusting.

New Zealand Cadburys was the best but they've gone and made them overseas now so no good chocolate there either. I don't eat much chocolate now cos don't like the taste. I miss chocolate.

chillipickle · 07/02/2011 23:46

My OH once heard an interview with a chocolate marketing man who said that if they invented Creme Eggs today they would never get past the product testing stage. Too sweet, the foil sticks to the chocolate, your hands end up covered in goo, really everything is wrong with them and today's discerning consumer would not be buying them.

The only reason we have them is that they were launched in simpler times.

Despite all their obvious faults, I rather like them. So YABU.

FourFingeredKitkat · 07/02/2011 23:47

Sickly, sickly things. I can't manage more than three Blush

loopylou6 · 07/02/2011 23:53
