to want to varnish DP's dressing gown?

DP is fuzzy all over and takes ages to get dry after a shower in the morning. I didn't want him to catch cold wandering around in the nud, so I bought him a lovely dressing gown for Christmas.

It's now hanging in the bathroom. But O Horror! it gives off so much lint that I now have to dust and hoover the bathroom every blimmin day or I get massive navy-blue dust bunnies.

I realise it might impede its usefulness to DP, but AIBU to want to varnish the dressing gown so as to save on housework?

Imagine his belly button fluff

Have you washed it a few times? My dressing gown was also linty when I first bought it, but it stopped after the first couple of washes.

It needs washing, like towels do before you use them.

Tell him to wear it in the shower for a few days Grin

I've washed it twice already, and it's still generating blizzards.

It's my own fault really, I guess. Should have bought one that would generate lint the same colour as the bathroom Grin

Snap, I bought myself a warm snuggly (albeit cheap) dressing gown because of the ice age weather we've been having. Mistake.

There are swaths of furry stuff everywhere, all over my knickers, floors, nightwear - you get the picture.

I have washed it five or six times! It's going to be relegated to the dog basket at this stage, I'm just afraid of having a black yeti dog.

My Dhs socks do this over all my cream carpets, even though some of them are YEARS old. I like the idea of varnishing.

(He has slippers but rarely wears them)
