He really was brilliant in Rising Damp
and Reggie Perrin

Some of you may be too young to remember him. But if you get the chance watch the biog. (It was on more4 early this morning.)

I was only up because it was blowing a gale. cheers "Gabby"

Oh Gabby! He was good but you are a strange un! Grin

MorticiaAddams · 05/02/2011 12:46

He was very good and I'll have to see if I can find it on 4OD.

Thanks Gabby. I like your randomness by the way.

Mortia I like my randomness too. It is more interesting than thinking like a ferret in a rabbit hutch...Or even a politician.

the week before I saw a Max Wall biog in this series and he was even funnier than I remember him.

this is one of his jokes I remember from years ago.

A salesman has a room next to a newly married couple in an hotel

The couple are saing "whose little bottie
is this and I have found your little bottie"

The salesman had had enough, knocked on the wall and shouted. "wHEN YOU TWO HAVE GOT YOUR ARSES SORTED OUT,i WANT TO GET SOME SLEEP," "gABBY"

One dramatic thing about the great Rossiter
was the manner of his death

He was acting in a play and did not respond to his call

A lady went to his dressing room. He was sat in his chair as usual, pipe in hand but dead.

Things do not get more dramtic than that.
