To think that if you are going to join a thread simply to flame the OP then at least read the posts made by them!

just seen a thread where the Op has repeated many tiimes that she was posting something said about her by someone else.

yet people are continuing to post flaming her because they cannot be bothered to actually read anything beyond the OP.

it is lazy.

And you make yourself look like a twat

Didn't anyone think that since the thread title had quote marks that it might be a, um, quote?

penelopestitsdropped · 04/02/2011 23:11

Madame - that is precisely why i scrolled. I was waiting for the rest of the story. It was either a troll or stealth thread.

Again, baffled by the use of pages. do people not realise that one single thread is soooo much easier

Penelope: apologies for thickery but am using mobile MN for first time - how do you get the highlight on OP's post?

Maryz, I did that tonight with a thread on here about mental health, was very Blush when i read the end bit and found it had changed, i did apologise.

2shoes · 04/02/2011 23:36

I think everyone should take a test before posting in AIBU

BuzzLightBeer · 04/02/2011 23:38

so the the point of the post was for people to vehemently disagree with the OP and you get upset with people vehemently disagree with the OP?
Hmm
YABU, twatty stupd OP in the first place.

2shoes · 04/02/2011 23:40

peneloptitsdropped:

I was one of those that didn't read properly. I did apologise but stood by what I said IF the OP was for real. She was obviously making a point and people reacted.I think the OP will actually be quite heart warmed by the lack of sympathy for such a post after her experience with the mums at school.

Any way I digress,

Thank you for this post as I am reasonably new and was not aware of the full page , green option for thread starter thingummy...
so now I am and hopefully I wont make the same mistake again.

Ta muchly :)

BuzzLightBeer · 04/02/2011 23:47

yes making people think is good thing. Making people feel as bad as you when people upset you is not so good thing.

manicbmc · 04/02/2011 23:52

I haven't read the thread lmao Grin

But I was heartened on the thread that the OP refers to - just because quite a lot of posters who flamed the OP then went back and read and apologised.

Cheers for info Maryz

It is a bit like hearing one sentance of a conversation and then jumping in ranting and raving.

everyone stops and stares at you wondering WTF you are on about. then they realise you are a bit of a numpty who hasn't actually been listening.

Like i say, use one big page, highlight the OP and then either do a quick skim of the OP's posts or scroll back through the last half a dozen to see where the debate is at when you join.

It's not exactly difficult and it saves you having to apologise
