And said "Are you ok?" It could have been a heartstopping moment but it was comfortable

No handcuffs were produced; no warrant.

I write about the police under my own name; so it seems reasonable to on nodding terms with them.

I have talked to people who think that is unreasonable. (and maybe a bit dangerous)

But I take the view that the ordinary officer has no real say in the big decisions. so, what the hell

Gabby, why do you write about the police?

FattyArbuckel · 04/02/2011 15:10

Is there any context to this Gabby as it is difficult to make any sense of your post or know how to respond without this...and are you somebody with a public profile you are assuming others are aware of?

LilRedWG · 04/02/2011 15:11

Am confused. Are you okay op?

GintyMarlow · 04/02/2011 15:12
Wine
ElephantsAndMiasmas · 04/02/2011 15:14

Was touching your shoulder a big decision then? Do you think the order came from High Places?

Is your shoulder made of depleted uranium? Because that could be dangerous.

Ormirian · 04/02/2011 15:16

No YANBU!

or alternatively

Yes YABU.

Depending on what the OP means.

KurriKurri · 04/02/2011 15:17

Is this a thread about a thread (I'm thinking maybe the one about the little boy who was tapped on the head with a swimming float) Confused

Ormirian · 04/02/2011 15:18

Or do you do karate at an extremely high level so much so that your body is a lethal weapon? Then it could be dangerous for the police officer.

GabbyLoggon · 04/02/2011 15:19

Chickens.. I write about the police because they are a necessary part of our society...and the top brass need keeping an eye on. "Gabby"

PS Now I shall tell you a serious part of this story.

OP posts:
MinnieBar · 04/02/2011 15:20

Oooh please do.

GypsyMoth · 04/02/2011 15:21

am riveted....

MrsRichardHammond · 04/02/2011 15:22

OP you write about the police like they are a new movement whose services need publicising

Chil1234 · 04/02/2011 15:23

Keep writing about the police Gabby... the kind of bollocks you churn out will give the poor buggers a laugh.

KurriKurri · 04/02/2011 15:23
Tortington · 04/02/2011 15:24

what the fuck are you talking about - nothing you have written makes any fucking sense

swanandduck · 04/02/2011 15:24

I would call the police if I were you.

TotemPole · 04/02/2011 15:25

I'm confused by the OP.

Is shoulder a euphemism for bum?Confused

Ormirian · 04/02/2011 15:28

Did she tap you on the shoulder with a swimming float?

GabbyLoggon · 04/02/2011 15:31

This SERIOUS but interesting.

I knew the officer because she patrolled the precinct.

About 18 months ago she approached me with a very anxious look on her face.

And said "I wont be here for some months
have you written a book I can read?"

She was missing the next day, I enquired:
It was cancer.

So I sent one of my little books to her through a 3rd party...about 6 months went by, and she was back on duty..I said did you like the book?"...she said "Yes."

I said "show it to your mates at the station" I assume she did. cheers "Gabby"

PS so you see these things do have a serious side

Oh god, how funny how awful

Hope you are recovering Gabby. Do you need a help line number or any special help?

Regards Quick

HeroShrew · 04/02/2011 15:32

it's the inverted commas that do it for me. Just so we know that these are not the wise words of a chirpy, preppily-dressed sports presenter.

Cheers, "Shrew"

BitOfFun · 04/02/2011 15:33

I often want to touch you on the shoulder and ask if you are ok, "Gabby". Often.

Ormirian · 04/02/2011 15:34

?

QuickLookBusy · 04/02/2011 15:34

This is like something from the another dimension. Have we been taken over by the conservatives aliens?

Cheers Quick
