DS is a great and curious wee chap - 7mo and full of beans. However, he only naps for 30 mins at a time, 2 or 3 times a day - the rest of the time, he's up, wanting to be played with! Once I have settled him to sleep (and if I haven't dropped off myself beside him Blush), I only have 20 mins in which to shower/load dishwasher/put washing on/have lunch/sweep the floor etc etc etc - never mind my quality MN time...!

AIBU to just wish he would be happy to play on his own for more than 10 mins without squawking, or sleep for more than half an hour at a go?! I have tried slinging him, but he just tries to grab everything out of my hands!

Not a serious complaint, I wouldn't change him for the world, but jaysus, it would be wonderful to have maybe an hour to get things done in one go!

DS was exactly like this!!!

He is now 9 months and this week I have consistantly got him to nap for 1 1/2 hours in the middle of the day :-) just long enough for my housework.

We get up at about 9:30, have breakfast, play lots then he sleeps from about 12:30 till nearly 2 then has his lunch.

After that there is no routine, but he has been going to sleep much earlier in the evening too, around 8 instead of midnight!

I have no idea how it worked, I think he just happened to be ready.
