So, tomorrow is the company dinner and my husband's boss' boss lives not far away from us. The other day he suggested that, as I am 27 weeks preganant, I might be the designated driver for myself, my husband, the boss and his wife. Fair enough, I was hardly going to get legless anyway and Big Boss said he would drive to another function in March. Today husband got an email from Big Boss which he forwarded to me, in which Big Boss suggests that come March, we'd better take his Landrover because of the added weight!

I,and a number of other women I have asked, think this was insensitive and rude, especially coming from a father of two. Husband thinks I am being very over sensitive and says he just won't repeat his boss' comments from now on! AIBU to think that this man is rude and that, even if he is not prepared to take such a senior member of staff to task, he might at least be slightly pissed off on my behalf?

I think it is funny. Its a good joke not at your expense either. But he is right you will be further gone by then.

Take it as it was meant as a joke.

Possibly a tad over sensitive but quite within your rights to feel a tad offended.

Ah yes, you are definately being over sensitive! (you are allowed though Grin). Im pregnant with dc3 and always get cracks about how big I am/ will be but dont take it as the same as someone calling me fat - I will be big by virtue of carrying baby.

Twas a joke
