LifeInTheSlowLane · 03/02/2011 18:29

Chil1234 - funny to hear that expression, I thought my dad was the only person who still said that Smile 7pm is wine o'clock around here, but only because that's when DH comes home and otherwise he'd think I'd been drinking all day Wink

upahill · 03/02/2011 18:30

You enjoy!!

I can't yet - I've got some driving to do before then so I'm looking at 9.30 when Not going out comes now.

jinglebelly · 03/02/2011 18:37

Can I just add I don't then carry on drinking through the evening, just a glass or two to wind down with in the kitchen Grin ...hic

7 pm for me too Bear That's when my dd goes to bed. A blissful moment as the first gulp of wine reaches a very dry spot...

upahill · 03/02/2011 18:42

Oh you can please yourself if you carry on or not!
I'm not one to mind

gobbledegoop · 03/02/2011 18:42

Do you have a drink every night? Not judging, just interested..

jinglebelly · 03/02/2011 18:44

No, probably three or four nights a week, usually a glass, sometimes two Smile

gobbledegoop · 03/02/2011 19:31

Not bad at all! Makes me feel better for knowing i'm not the only one Wink

toeragsnotriches · 03/02/2011 19:33

Sad babygiraffes. I'm on the wagon tonight too because the builder's coming over to explain something to me and I will have to con cen trate.

Beamur · 03/02/2011 19:36

6 o clock is wine o clock here.
I'm the same - I truly love my early evening snifter, but don't carry on all evening. A glass or two is just the thing to keep me sane.

Fayrazzled · 03/02/2011 19:41

If I had a glass of wine at 5pm or 6pm I'd never get dinner on the table or the children to bed! And I love a glass of wine as much as the next person. I try only to drink at the weekends though: a medium glass of wine (175ml) contains approx 2 units, so 2 a night would put you over the recommended maximum alcohol units for women of 14 units a week (I think some sources suggest 21 units but even so, that would be exceeded too).

Unfortunately, despite my good intentions, I think I drank all my units for last week last Friday evening at a school social event.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/02/2011 19:45

When I do drink its not until I settle down with the telly at around 9pm. I'm like Fayrazzled, I wouldnt get anything done if I drank earlier.

Am about to have a fruity herbally tea. Off alcohol and oddly enjoying it.

Beamur · 03/02/2011 19:51

I might get less done, but I'm pretty cheerful about it!
