to put ds to sleep on his front for a nap

He is currently asleep on his front , with dummy in which I can see him sucking. I'm worried his head is getting too flat. He goes mad after 5 mins tummy time so I thought if I watch him during his daytime naps his head might get a rest on the flat bit. I have a huge sofa with a huge stool thing pushed up so he is safe and I can watch him.

Also when he was newborn he used to sleep on his tummy vertically on my front so that was on his front too, he is 15 weeks now.

I wouldn't have him asleep on a sofa

My ds2 would only ever sleep on his tummy, this just meant until I was confident about him being ok, he had all naps in a Moses basket right next to the sofa where I could keep an eye on him.

I wouldn't have him sleeping on the sofa though.

Flat heads normally sort themselves out once the child is able to sit unaided.

DD sleeps on her front all the time (9 weeks) and on the sofa, but our sofa is very wide, solid and flat and we take the cushions off. Stastically the risks from sleeping on their tummies are tiny and she won't sleep any other way.

Just to clarify I don't fall asleep with him and his head is nowhere near a cushion . I am at one end watching him he is at the other. If I was leaving the room I would transfer into basket but can't see him properly in that so always put him on his back. I do turn his head the other way once asleep as he seems to have a favourite side. Anyway he only lasted for 15 mins on tummy , woke up crying so now cuddling him.
