BBC website this morning has reported that "More than two-thirds of councils in England are planning major cuts to their bus budgets".
Cue despair for those like me, who don't drive, live in a rural area and rely rely on buses for all essential journeys - work, school, shopping, social life etc.
Happily, the wonders of the internet mean that the LITTLE PEOPLE CAN FIGHT BACK!!!
The Campaign for Better Transport has put together a lovely website, showing all the cuts in one's own area and who is opposing them, or supporting you to set up your own local campaign. Which is here:

I know there is a lot of shit on the internet, but I am heartened by the fat that it appears to be bringing direct participtation in our democracy one step closer - all that Web 2.0 stuff actually working.
