I had some highlights done today and I don't think the hairdresser hasn't put enough in, aibu to go back and ask her to put a few more through the top for free?

yes,of course,good hairdresser will fix free.

I agree - a good hairdresser should sort it out without any cost.

i was unhappy with cut,emailed owner,he was ok.i go there long term.reputable salon values its reputation,and wants you happy

approach to owner/salon manager.polite brief request that they ammend.they wont sweat it at all
