my partner seems so much closer to my son these days - they share common (as it happens sporting), interests and as our son has got older they just seem to spend so much more time chatting and sharing jokes together

I do try and join in, but sometimes it seems they are just happier sharing each other's company! I have good relationships with my partner and our son - it's just that as we get older and our son gets older, they seem to have much more in common with each other!

Maybe I'm just missing my "baby" and him not wanting me first all the time? My son was a bit poorly the other night, and for the first time wanted dad to stay off work with him.

How lovely that he gets on so well with his father.

I think you is a tad jealous of their closeness and that is not surprising either.

Try to find something you and your son can do together just the two of you.

ah, its lovely but i know how you feel, my DD and DP are so close that sometimes i don't get a look in. I am envious on both scores. Blush

I do feel jealous. I think I am being a bit precious (and stupid - I'd hate it if they DIDN'T get on!).

Just miss my baby wanting ME!!

Hmmm. I'm not in your situ but I'd try and use my free time to my advantage Grin

I appreciate its not as simple as that though. But try and not take it personally, they have shared interests, let them enjoy it.
