I know it's often disliked. I would never spell like lyk this. I punctuate. I usually know where all the little twiddly bits of punctuation go.

But, just sometimes, instead of going 'haha' or or Wink Grin I prefer to lol. Just a little one you understand, not lolololol.

But is it a slippery slope do you think? Should I cease and desist? Will I get a ban?

lol

It's a free country ain't it?

nemofish · 02/02/2011 05:38

Aww that just smashes the whole point of AIBU. If it's a free country, none of us ABU. Then where's the fun, I ask you, where?

And what are you soing skulking the boards at this time of morning / night, Pumpington?!

Just woke up can't go back to sleep you?

nemofish · 02/02/2011 05:42

Never got to sleep in the bleedin first place. I have never been like this, but past 4 out of 5 days I have had insomnia and feck all sleep.

I just don't feel tired like I would normally. I have no idea what's causing it and it's driving me bonkers.

Which is probably why I'm spouting complete bollocks all over tinternet at almost quarter to bleedin six in the morning. Grrr. Bugger it.

Go see doctors maybe? If not medical condition then it must be your age.............

nemofish · 02/02/2011 06:18

Ey? Speak up dearie, I'm a trifle deaf.

It might be the tablets I'm on, but I'm really hoping not because they have been brilliant so far. I'm petrified of going to see GP but tbh I might as well go this morning after I've dropped dd at school.

An occasional LOL is fine, I find. sometimes something amuses, but insufficiently for a PMSL, or a ROFL - and yet the simple Smile or even Grin doesn't do it enough justice.

So yes, LOL has its place.

Bummer re. insomnia - hope it's not your tabs but it could be, it's a common enough side effect :(

nemofish · 02/02/2011 06:38

I do like a good roffle!

Thanks thumbwitch, it may be the tabs or just stress or depression I guess, but I reckon tabs as I feel so odd. Just... odd. I've been on them since November and I think they've really helped but now I'm scared they will put me on something shite else. I know that none of this makes sense and IABU. Wink

No I do understand - a friend of mine was on strong hormone meds, that made her desperately depressed - so her GP put her on fluoxetine for the depression - which gave her appalling insomnia. the GP was very reluctant to give her anything for the insomnia because where would it end? So my friend chose to live with the insomnia because the fluoxetine was working to keep the depression under control.
I know that's not exactly hopeful for you but it shows you're not alone with it...
She did also say it felt like she was functioning through a thin layer of cotton wool, if that makes any sense.

nemofish · 02/02/2011 06:51

Oh yeah, I am wading through treacle here... I think I have got attached to my tablets because for the first time in 28years I am living without panic attacks.
