Sorry for a poorly disguised housekeeping thread but AIBU is busier!
Why does it keep turning itself off (about 3 mins into a cycle)? Is there anything I can try to fix it?

Check to see if you have a blockage.

StealthPolarBear · 01/02/2011 22:36

Oh OK...that sounds like a job for tomorrow but has given me hope that it can actually be sorted without spending £££ on a whirlpool man
thanks

Mine did that when it was blocked. I had take the filter out and poggle (technical term) a blunt knife around in the pipe bit. All was then well... Good luck!

Does yours have lights that are on when it goes off? ie on mine if the eco light comes on and stops the cycle it means there is water leaking somewhere! 2 other lights on mean filter blockage.

StealthPolarBear · 01/02/2011 22:44

Thanks Belle, might give it a go now actually or it will bother me,
no, all lights out

Oh dear... Sounds like it's a bit more serious then. [sad[

Guess you've tried a different programme, etc?

FreudianSlippery · 02/02/2011 06:44

When that happened with ours, DH took the back off (am so glad, saved a lot of money)

Turns out a baby sock had somehow got into the mechanism.

And a very soggy, shredded washable breastpad Blush

You might have something stuck in the impeller - that's what usually wrong with ours. We have to pull it out, unscrew the bottom and open it up and a bit of wood or a pip or something comes out. I found this out by googling the specific model.

QuickLookBusy · 02/02/2011 07:37

Mine did this and I thought it was stuck on the pre wash cycle. I switched it off at the mains, reset the programme and it worked.

Furball · 02/02/2011 07:54

FreudianSlippery- socks and breast pads in your dishwasher? Grin

FreudianSlippery · 02/02/2011 08:13

Oops! I saw the word wash and assumed washing machine Blush

In my defence though, we don't HAVE a dishwasher Envy
