OP, in my book, chocolate is like sex. Plain boring chocolate is like the missionary position with the lights out! You are missing sooooo much!

YABU, definitely. Proper fruit, proper alcohol, both acceptable. But no cheapo artificial muck. Unless it's an emergency.

Cases in point:

Kirsh soaked cherries in dark chocolate (without the stone).

Hotel Chocolat Boozy Bumblebees (brandy and honey truffle things).

And whole strawberries freshly dipped in chocolate

White chocolate on the other hand is NOT chocolate. It contains cocoa butter but no cocoa and is the work of the devil.

White chocolate is the food of the gods. Only matched by that strange caramel stuff, called Caramac. I got a Caramac Easter egg one year, and was in heaven. I ate all of it before breakfast, and spent the rest of the day being sick. Still loved it though.

YANBU. Chocolate with booze and fruit and nubbly bits is very bad for you. So is white chocolate.

So send all those bad, horrible, disgusting non-chocs to me and I'll dispose of them tidily for you. That's what friends are for innit?

Alcohol no but mint, caramel, nuts or almost anything else is yum, so is plain chocolate.

But the price of chocolate these days!!!

BTW fruit and cheese is ok as long as it's an apple or pear. As is cheese and fruit cake.
