i work 4 days (as a NHS cleaner) also have a do alot of stuff with the dc, i spend betwwen 8pm-midnight cleaning and even if i am up at 5am i am still cleaning.

however i over did it with the housework yesterday, and wrote on facebook, i am knacked too much housework in one day lol....which my mum wrote, glad you have bought bleach instead of wine.

Bloody hell I don't blame you Shock

Or was she joking? If one of my mates said that I'd crack up laughing but that's cos I know it would be said in jest.

Reply with "Anymore comments like that Mommy dearest, and I will drink the bleach!" then de-friend her.

FreudianSlippery · 30/01/2011 23:38

I don't really get what she means?

Don't forget, FB is a hotbed for misunderstandings.

manicbmc · 30/01/2011 23:39

If my mam had said or posted that I would have laughed myself daft.

auntyfash · 30/01/2011 23:39

I'm more shocked with the amount of time you spend cleaning that what your mum said tbh!

I'd limit the housework to no more than an hour a day and spend the rest of the time drinking more wine :o

spongebobsquareknickers · 30/01/2011 23:42

Sounds like a joke to me, albeit a stupid one. I wouldnt be too worried. If you are though, just tell her, explain that you dont want anyone to misunderstand.

bubblewrapped · 30/01/2011 23:51

I think if she had said "you should have bought wine instead of bleach" it would have been funnier.. as it is, it sounds odd.

You admit you have OCD, and really that amount of cleaning is way OTT, and you probably know you need to do something about that, as it is taking over your life. Your mum must be aware of it, and that sort of comment is really not helpful, or kind.

AuntiePickleBottom · 31/01/2011 00:14

i love cleaning, and it feel like i need to do more.

it may be ott but i love a clean home

There is cleaning, and there is an obsession though. How on earth can you find anything to clean for 4 hours each night, and from the moment you get up. Its just not possible!

Lovecat · 31/01/2011 07:29

Do you want to come round mine and do a bit? :)

Seriously, how big is yr house? You do sound a bit obsessed tbh. If your mum meant that you should have bought wine instead then I agree with her. As yr post reads, I don't get it.

borderslass · 31/01/2011 07:33

Depends what you mean by cleaning some people say their cleaning when doing their general housework.

There sounds as if there are a few issues here - are you trying to live up to some standards that your mother is setting? Is she aware of how obsessive your cleaning is becoming? If you do it as a living and then come home and keep going until midnight, you must be exhausted.

This is obsession and not at all healthy. The reason your mother's remark hurt so much is that you feel you are putting your energy into your home - but yet it is still not good enough.

Please get some help with the OCD - you do not sound relaxed, or happy. Your mother's remarks has opened a wound, which shouldn't be there in the first place.

Hope it gets better for you. You are a hard-working person and you deserve your relaxation....

MommyMayhem · 31/01/2011 08:11

Ouch! I think she was probably just trying to be funny. It would piss me off, though, I have to say.

slightlymad72 · 31/01/2011 08:15

Just reply 'very witty' she can then take it either way.
