...reflection on our society?

Am sat here watching this for the first time with my DD who loves it. I think it's shallow shite where people judge each other on looks first before "personality"

At least in my day when it was Cilla & Blond date you couldn't see each other

But if we're really being honest, doesn't everyone judge first on looks, rather than personality?

pointydug · 29/01/2011 20:40

It's just a bit of mindless junk. That's all.

tralalala · 29/01/2011 20:45

I don't beleive that most of them struggle to get a date...........liars!!

BringOnTheGoat · 29/01/2011 21:33

YABU - is hilarious - just like BB - quickest path for me to feel like an intelligent, attractive and worthwhile human being.

roomonthebroom · 29/01/2011 22:45

No likey, no watchy lighty

expatinscotland · 29/01/2011 22:56

I don't bother watching shite like this at all because just the ads for it put me off.

How sad and desperate are these folks?

Jux · 29/01/2011 23:07

I've not seen it before tonight but we have a friend of dd's here and she said she loved it so we watched.

Horrible horrible horrible. I gave both girls stern lecture on 'Women as Cattle' and thoroughly spoilt the programme for them. Grin

LaraJade · 29/01/2011 23:30

I like it, it's just a bit of fun + a good excuse to watch Paddy McGuiness (sp?).

Ladyofthehousespeaking · 29/01/2011 23:34

Read a bloody book then. Christ.

Mumbybumby · 29/01/2011 23:44

I agree with Larajade! It's my guilty secret and I love Paddy McGuinness! :)

MsKLo · 29/01/2011 23:51

Oh lighten up! It's harmless fun!

No likey? Switch offy!

MrsNonSmoker · 29/01/2011 23:59

I love it and I am not sorry. Let the toad see the hole. Grin

RunawayRasin · 30/01/2011 00:03

A work colleague of mine has been on it and the episode will be shown in March. He's a sneaky git though as he's in a long term relationship!

Ladyofthehousespeaking · 30/01/2011 00:05

Oooooh!

MarineIguana · 30/01/2011 00:07

Oh god I caught a bit of it the other night and gawped in horror. A ahem short and not stunningly attractive bloke with bumfluff moustache had 2 girls left, one was obviously keen, but he picked the other because "he wouldn't normally get to go out with someone like her who was out of his league" (ie tall blonde & leggy). Talk about shallow! He wasn't even looking for someone he could get on with ? just a walking set of legs, norks and hair to show off on his arm.

Ewwwww it was grim. The poor woman then revealed that she'd tried to switch her thingy off but it hadn't worked.

I didn't keep watching but I did kind of enjoy my couple of minutes of indignation...

MardyBra · 30/01/2011 00:18

Yeah, like Cilla was really sophisticated telly Hmm

mommmmyof2 · 30/01/2011 11:01

Oh I seen that marine it was quite funny as you could tell the blond girl really did not want to be picked.

I do think it is harmless but it is funny to watch sometimes, I really don't think the majority go on there looking for love though (could be wrong) but it is more for the 'I have been on tv'

I would feel to ashamed to be honest, imagine if the man turned your light off so embarresing.Blush

ivykaty44 · 30/01/2011 11:02

you have an off switch - use it

JoBettany · 30/01/2011 11:06

It is complete pants. I watched it once for a brief moment. Mind numbing drivel.

Switch it off OP!! Grin

WanderingSheep · 30/01/2011 11:56

It's hilarious! How desperate do some of the girls look when the man is going round turning the lights off and they're covering their switch shouting "no no no!" Grin

It bugs me that some girls look desperate to get picked one week, they get the date, then the next week they say, "oh I don't fancy him, he's not my type!" well why didn't you turn your light off then and give the other desperate girls a chance?

You'd think they'd switch it round too, like on blind date where the man had to pick and then the woman had to pick!
