to think that Off The Beaten Track was a mistake

this isn't a thread about a thread, it's a thread about a topic, and some of the threads in it

so hopefully not bad form

I think it was amistake - it seems to be used for all the wrong reasons. For example the shiney crew feeling they ought to post on there because people were complaining about them being a clique - that seems wrong to me, MN is public and nobody should feel they have to retire to a private area. And the BoM thread which is full of personal attacks and insults - people seem to retire onto that thread to make the sort of remarks they wouldn't make on the main boards

I think it should be got rid of. What does everyone else think?

Whatever, you clearly think that slagging posters off on mumsnet, is fine. Most others people don't. I personally use the PM system and have found it to be most effective in trash talking without the person being able to read it.

or you could, ya know, grow a pair and then just tell them to their face instead of running and hiding in your not secret thread like a bunch of cowardly schoolgirls

singleproudmummy?

If you were cross at her, why not deal with her directly on that step parents thread?

Why go onto lone parents and cause upset to people who don't go near stepparents threads or boards, and post about it on three different threads and drag various people into it then?

penelopestitsdropped · 28/01/2011 23:52

who you shouting at?

You as in the posters on yoru cliquie little thread.
You have come on here trying to defend your actions. You fail to see why this has blown up. you are intent on blaming this OP or some other single mum or whoever, you refuse to acknowledge teh fact that whatever caused the outing you are the ones that are responsible for posting the bitchyness

I have no idea that you have posted that on lone parents, I have not seen that on lone parents!

I understand we are discussing the lone parents thread about stepmums started by singleproudmum! and some posts on stepparents she posted on, no idea of the name of that thread as I have not seen it, it was continually referred to in lone parents, and there was one on off the beaten track called bom, that the posters asked to be deleted as soon as this thread went up!

Hysterical cunts the lot of you.

Bof nice tits. DP is impressed.

RussellGroup · 29/01/2011 00:14

Has no-one mentioned Narnia yet then?

singleproudmum · 29/01/2011 00:15

Hey slimbo, Lady Tremaine, how are you?

Why haven't you invited me over to this thread, especially since you decided to hound me on lone parents?, simply because I had an opinion which dared to differ from yours?

I find it astounding that you are still carrying on this moaning about how hard done to you are!.
Don't backtrack Slimbo and make out your words were totally innocent. You have been sussed!

Same goes for you Lady Tremaine!, everything boils down to the fact that you and others on the sp forum acted well out of order, and when someone pulls you up on it you close ranks.

If you have no shame about what you have written then why hide out on another forum?
Surely you should feel able to have a healthy debate with people like myself, and you should be able to handle it better when someone disagrees with you.

penelopestitsdropped · 29/01/2011 00:16

fuck me i haven't heard anyone mention Narnia in ages

though thats probably cos this place is full of newbies that think its a place at the bottom of the wardrobe

SPM, was it you that started this thread as a name changer?

RussellGroup · 29/01/2011 00:21

how long you been here then mj?

penelopestitsdropped · 29/01/2011 00:22

If you were an oldie you would know that Narnia was a "secret" thread. a kind of glitch in the system that allowed a deleted thread to remain open to a small number of posters.

they used that thread to slag off other mumsnetters.

It caused a great deal of upset when it was all finally revealed.
big divide and a few flounces

singleproudmum · 29/01/2011 00:23

No I didn't start this thread! Its rolandweary who I agreed with on the sp thread.

If I was going to start a new thread I wouldn't be changing my name!

Rolandweary was on the sp thread, ah ok that now makes sence why this was started, thank you for letting me know spm.

SPM, what are you going to start a new thread about?

Junction3 · 29/01/2011 00:25

Wow, I've never been mentioned on any threads that have kicked off before! Who the fuck is Junction3? I doubt anyone would know, I'm a frequent name changer because we get quoted so much in the press these days, and I'm a very irregular and low key poster, so much so that I have no idea what most of this thread is about - BOMS, off the beaten track, etc mean nothing to me.

So just to clear it up, I wasn't hinting at anything, just putting my opinion across as someone with a foot in both camps.
