ds has been really poorly the last couple of days with a high temp, sore throat, upset stomach, runny nose and cough. all in all he has most of the symptoms of swine flu. now, Im a big believer in children building up their immune system. he is never ill but has been really ill since weds night.

I am dosing him up with ibuprofen and cough mixture, keeping him warm and lots of fluids, dont think there is anything else I can do really, and we have been snuggled right up.

but I know I will get it. Im already feeling off colour, I have a condition concerning my ribs where the cartilige swells up pushing the rib out. the worst flare ups occur when Ive had a bit of a chest infection, or pulled my shoulder. I have only just recovered from a flare up that lasted a month and had me stuck in bed. and my chest is tsill really tender from that. I know Im being a bit selfish, and nothing could stop me looking after ds but everytime he snuggles up to me and sneezes onto me my heart sinks a little bit more.

I, too, have a medical condition that means if I get Swine Flue (or any more chest infections/pneumonia) I will be pretty much a gonna! You have my sympathies, as I dread my family bringing home any more bugs (I am at the tail-end of a 7 weeker).

whats yours ladythumb? mine is teitze's. last flare up caused pretty bad muscle damage too, and most of my ribs are now pretty much out Sad

My son has Teitze's disease, so you have my sympathies as I know what he goes through. I have a weak heart (triple by pass) and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease/get Pneumonia a lot.

thanks, that sounds horrendous Sad

its v frustrating, even the doctors dont know much about it and dont seem to understand how bloody painful it is. dont think i can handle another one.
