the same argument over and over and over and over again in the same thread should find something more productive to do with their time?

Sometimes, people just won't agree with you, no matter how many times hurl abuse state your case. Wouldn't it be easier if people could make their point, defend it once (perhaps even twice at a push) if necessary and then move on.

I'm quite new on MN, and a couple of times I have returned to a thread a couple of hours later to find pages and pages from the same 2 or 3 posters just having a big old slagging off session barney. Then you cba to read it all and the poor OP, who is probably long gone has had their original point completely derailed.

I know we all have strong opinions about certain issues, but seriously, don't people have anything else to do all day?? Hmm

It's called work avoidance, and oddly, it works, especially when u either have a cup of tea or glass of wine in your hand. Get over yourself!

slightlymad72 · 28/01/2011 15:55

Nope SAHM, got to fill my days with something.

swanandduck · 28/01/2011 15:55

YANBU. It's like someone starting a conversation then getting bored and heading to the shops and the other two people just stay there arguing and arguing and it's obvious they are never, ever going to see each other's point of view. I kind of got into that on a thread recently when a lunatic just kept coming back with ever ruder slagging posts and no substance and then realised 'what am I doing?? I have a life to be getting on with' and left.

carminaburana · 28/01/2011 15:55

You are being unreasonable - and I'll be back at least 20 times to say it -

purpleandpink · 28/01/2011 16:04

Some people are just really passionate about their own opinion, yes we could be there for a long time, but sometimes it quite ammusing Grin
