For my OH High blood pressure?

they came home the other day and told me that the docs had told there blood pressure was high, especially for their age.

He then went on to say 'I've had it for so manty years so It must be because of you' 'well you panic and stuff and it irratates and stresses me out so its sorta continued from there'

Granted I do have anxiety/panic attack problems tbh its probs more amusing from an outside view.I get panicy over being late, broken things, food left about etc

I mean he doesnt even knwo what It means yet they've not concluded in testing yet, It really really upset me, I do try but his health is his responsibility, I think to blame someone over something they have no control over is disgusting, AIBU?

Yanbu! I have high blood pressure ( am on medications) and it would never occur to me to blame anyone else. He is being ridiculous.

MoaningMedalllist · 28/01/2011 13:48

I said this, his health is his health

I don't blame others for my stress problems, people may aggravate it but the isssue is inherintly mine

is he a smoker, or overweight, does he exercise, eat healthily, drink a lot, got family history of high blood pressure??

he is well out of order to try to blame you!

MoaningMedalllist · 28/01/2011 13:53

does he eat a lot of salty food, processed meats, take aways, that sort of thing?

salt not good for high blood pressure

Rubyonthetown · 28/01/2011 14:00

YANBU

My ex dp blamed me for his health problems as well. I thought he was a twat for it actually and it contributed to our break up.

The fact that he didn't do any excercise and went to the pub every night after work and every day he ate as much as I would eat in a week, of course had nothing to do with it according to him.

Tell you OH to stop blaming you and take responsibility for his own health.

FabbyChic · 28/01/2011 14:02

Does he smoke? That is a contributory factor in high blood pressure, that and fat, stress at work etc.,

Im sorry he blamed you, try not to stress about it too much.

I hope you are getting help for your problems, CBT would be good for you.

CBT is great and also counselling to help you get to the bottom of the cause.

Your DP needs to grow up and take responsibility for his onw health. Bloody cheek!

Point out that maybe it's because he eats crap and has a massive fat gut, and that if he balmes you again then you'll give him something to have high blood pressure over.

Anxiety is a condition just like any physical problem so how dare he use it to blame you for his health problems!

monkeyflippers · 28/01/2011 14:17

Oh my god so many mistakes!

KnittedBreast · 28/01/2011 14:18

if he suffers from anxiety issues its his job to sort them out, they are nothing to do with you and you havent caused them. his helth his job to sort out.

im wiggeling my finger at him for not taking responcibility for his own self

MoaningMedalllist · 28/01/2011 14:25
