parents into school days?

aibu to be slightly miffed that today the childrens school had a working parents into school day.
non working parents were not allowed.
can anyone tell me what the point of this would be?
they didnt do anything to do with working, it was purley helping out in class.
dd came home and asked why i hadnt gone in, when x's mummy did. she had been told at school, that her mummy didnt go in cause she didnt do a job.

Not at all U, there are many reasons parents do not work and to exclude parents form the class on this basis is increibly divisive (sp?).

I would imagine that many of those in paid work were expected to be at their place of employment ?

Cos the school wanted to make it even more difficult for working parents?
Can imagine the conversation in the staff meeting
" how can we piss off lots of parents in one foul swoop? "

the school is always asking for helpers, they will apply for and pay for the crb check for the parent, so anyone can volunteer their help, and do as much or as little as they can.
there was 4 parents who went in, 2 working mums, and 2 working dads.
if i can get child care for the youngest i try to help out for things, so when these parents were in and out all day and dd knew her wee bro was in nursery part of the day she said to the teacher, is my mummy comming in?. teacher replied, no not today, your mummy doesnt have a job so she cant come in today.
which totally comfused dd. cause she is 7 and knows that beause i dont work, i can go in when ds2 in in nursery.

I would of rung and asked what she meant by that.The way she said it comes across as incredibly rude and dismissive about sahm too me. I could just be being unreasonable too though

i had asked about going in, the fact it was today was on the newsletter, so i went into the office monday and said, i can come in on thurs, what time suits best? they said, oh sorry its only for working parents, but please feel free to come in any other time.
2 other mums also spoke to them, and were btoh told the same thing.

Why didn't you ask there and then when they told you that in the office?

I've never heard of a 'working parents in school day', it's pretty odd considering if they can get the day off work to go in and help...then there's really no need for a specific day to be put by

I didnt ask cause i thought it might be a national idea, like they used to do dads in school type days, do they still happen? There are always parents who can and do help out and parents who cant or who wont, but its just annoyed me that they think seperating working and non working parents like this was a good idea.
