and to be feeling really aggrieved that after reporting the same very offensive post twice I have had no responce from HQ

yet I had made a fairly inofensive post and it was deleted imediatly once it was reported. (different threads and posters BTW)

OP posts:
MsKLo · 26/01/2011 23:02

What was your post about?

tomhardyismydh · 26/01/2011 23:04

I called someone a prize prat

and the other poster on another thread made a very offensive joke about the pope being a nazi.

I wondered, If I called the queen a fascist that would be deleted. not that I would of course

I reported one tonight and they were on the ball.

OracleInaCoracle · 26/01/2011 23:05

it depends on the timing tbh. they take longer to respond on evenings. which thread?

Well, to be fair, the Pope was a member of Hitler Youth...

MollysChambers · 26/01/2011 23:07

Nope. Still here.

liquiditytrap · 26/01/2011 23:07

So was everyone else in Germany...

MsKLo · 26/01/2011 23:07

Yep the offensive one tonight has gone which is good as was in very poor taste

Anniegetyourgun · 26/01/2011 23:07

Are you sure the Pope remark was a joke? Maybe it was just a statement. (An inaccurate one, of course, I hasten to add.)

The difference probably comes about because when you're calling another poster even a mild word such as "prat" you're insulting them directly, which breaches the MN guidelines, whereas poking opprobrium at public figures doesn't.

MsKLo · 26/01/2011 23:08

Well it dos say in guidelines no personal insults...

tomhardyismydh · 26/01/2011 23:08

i re[orted you molly

Anyway will, i have just had that debate and there is no evidance he joined the nazi party

he was a memeber hitler youth yes I dont dispute.

anyway thats another thread.

oddly enough mumsnet don't actually read every single post that is ever placed on here.

if there is something offensive then unless it is reported they very rarely notice it.

if you think something needs deleting then click report.

tomhardyismydh · 26/01/2011 23:09

it was delivered as joke, or so he later stated Hmm

OP posts:
tomhardyismydh · 26/01/2011 23:10

I did report Pen

OP posts:
ILoveItWhenYouCallMeBoo · 26/01/2011 23:10

penelope she did report it twice. that is what she si complaining about.

TattyDevine · 26/01/2011 23:12

Hold on though because if it was a statement rather than a personal insult, they wont want to censor that by deleting it, even if it is technically incorrect.

Mumsnet is full of inaccuracies - statements about food contents, formula preparation, how much something costs, people get things "wrong" all the time. It doesn't mean it should be deleted. If you disagree, say so, provide evidence and links if its important that people believe you over the other poster.

Unless the pope is on here (I'm sure he is somewhere, probably in "body and soul") and you say "you are a nazi" and he gets offended and reports it, I dont see why Mumsnet should delete it.

penelopestitsdropped · 26/01/2011 23:12

once HQ pick up your report they will decide to delete or not.
if they decide not to they will usually email you and let you know why.

if you have yet to recieve an email then chances are they have yet to recieve teh rpeort.

tomhardyismydh · 26/01/2011 23:14
