Touching Base

AIBU to poke out the eyes of the next person who tells me they'll touch base with me next week (or whenever) It is a ridiculous phase at all times but especially when said by another FTM in toddler group. What is wrong with "give you a call" or "pop round for coffee"? And quite honestly I don't want anyone touching my fucking base! Angry.

correct me if i am wrong (cant be arsed to google atm) i am led to believe that a rain-check is what they give you at baseball games if rain stops play. a free pass back in to see a game equivalent to what you missed. not culturally relevant to use it in the UK, no one knows wtf you on about so its meaningless. would annoy me too. we have a few crap phrase users in our office. jumping up shouting BINGO and waving completed bullshit bingo scorecard around tends to stop em though!

Makes me think of touching cloth.

God, my boss used to do this all the time. I used to send an email to my friend (and she sent them to me) along the lines that if he touched my base I'd punch him.
