Mr Brookers series is called "How TV Ruined Your Life"

Charlie thinks TV News etc lacks a sense of proportion and makes us miserble.

Frightens us when there is not too much to be frightened of.

His series takes no prisoners; but it is very funny if you have that sort of sense of humour.

I think the BBC are brave to let him on

Cheers "Gabby"

Bugger, was it on last night? I wanted to watch that.

Did you watch his other series. screenwipe/newswipe?

joydivisionovengloves · 26/01/2011 16:41

I saw it. Brooker is a genius.

GabbyLoggon · 26/01/2011 16:42

No, I think I saw some of screenswipe, Tether.

This new one may well be repeated on a minority channel. There are 5 more episodes
to come..

Some of it made us howl with laughter.

He will upset some people; but behind the madness charlie makes serious points. cheers "Gabby"

I love Charlie Brooker, but will never forgive him for marrying Konnie Huq and not me Grin

MrsNonSmoker · 26/01/2011 16:58

Charlie Brooker is my favourite and my best.

HeroShrew · 26/01/2011 17:01

CB ruined it with his snarky "did you lot complaining about EE know that it isn't really real.." piece.

giyadas · 26/01/2011 17:10

Brooker's great, sorry I missed this. Will look out for the repeat.
Dawn of the Dumb was hilarious, was reading it on the bus and couldn't hold back the laughter.
Probably looked like a right nutter.

narkypuffin · 26/01/2011 17:16

Thank you. Tv set.

JamieLeeCurtis · 26/01/2011 17:19

It's a similar thesis to the one in Bowling for Columbine, and one I do agree with (did not see the prog. yesterday). I also think someone should make a programme "The Daily Mail/Express Ruined My Life". Many many people who read those become misanthropic, narrow-minded pessimists

JamieLeeCurtis · 26/01/2011 17:21

Mind you, thank God for our TV news. I watch The Daily Show (or did, before More 4 reduced it to one edition a week) - that's a really funny satirical show that paints a shocking picture of the state of American TV news and political commentary
