Grubby child hanging off the side, chomping on a sausage roll swigging cold tea from a bottle natch....

My eyes almost popped out of my head when I saw the crap attempt of food going down the checkout, pizzas, crisps, pack after pack of biscuits, gallons of fizzy pop, crate after crate of fruitshoots.....

I was disgusted, not a bag of grapes, apples or oranges in sight, poor boy, bet he dosen't know what a proper meal is [bsad] His mother had AUNTIE tattooed across her neck ffs, why do these people even BREED ?

Pancakeflipper · 26/01/2011 16:02

Oh I hate it too when I have to slum it at Fortnum & Mason. Were the staff all chewing gum and grunting at you?

clevercloggs · 26/01/2011 16:02

damn x post

DirtyMartini · 26/01/2011 16:03

But surely this is openly a wind-up thread? Like, not even actual trolling but mere jest?

Not sure why though. Bit pointless.

MrsRhettButler · 26/01/2011 16:03

well it could have been for a party but i do agree that its disgusting what some people live on

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 26/01/2011 16:04

I only eat healthy things because I should iyswim. If I could survive on chips and pringles I bloody would.

Ladyofthehousespeaking · 26/01/2011 16:05

Maybe she has an allotment at home?
Like hugh?

moondog · 26/01/2011 16:05

Oh goodness, did you not know that in modern Britain judging is akin to donning a pointy hat and burning a cross??

No no no.

What you must do is to empathise, arrange 'counselling and support' and muse on her unfortunate station in life.

MsKLo · 26/01/2011 16:05

I don't really get why you getting such grief but am not suprised! The stuff that some people feed their kids is shocking. I saw a mum pour some coke in her kid's bottle once - poor thing

TheDevilAndTheDeepBlueSea · 26/01/2011 16:05

Exactly, Chickens. I do the whole meal planning, fruit and veg thing because I should. I much prefer chocolate and chips.

SatansLittleHelper · 26/01/2011 16:06

I only went in for some teabags.....

They didn't have any fruit samples out and I always try before I buy, buy all fruit etc from local greengrocer only so could understand her not having anything like that in her trolley but no excuse to live off shite

Memoo · 26/01/2011 16:06

A fucking allotment at home Grin Grin

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 26/01/2011 16:06

I love Coke. None of that Diet shite, though.

LDNmummy · 26/01/2011 16:08

She may not fit into your mold of respectability but maybe she will "breed" the next einstein or a curer of HIV, who knows.

SatansLittleHelper · 26/01/2011 16:08

God no, she wasn't the allotment type, she had JEWELS studded through her fingertips

OP posts:
toiletrollcover · 26/01/2011 16:08

Thats why bums go to Iceland....

SandStorm · 26/01/2011 16:08

Waits for clarification if this is indeed a thread about a thread before wading in.

SatansLittleHelper · 26/01/2011 16:10

No, it isn't a thread about a thread, t was what I sadly witnessed, sheer lazy parenting

OP posts:
Memoo · 26/01/2011 16:11

Tbh Satan, I don't know how you stopped yourself from saying something to her!

SatansLittleHelper · 26/01/2011 16:14

Honestly, I wanted to put my hand over hers and tell her to just STOp, and think about what she's doing to her child for a minute, so sad the lives some people live....

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 26/01/2011 16:15

Crivens, Satans, if you had any class you'd concentrate on your own shopping rather than rubber-necking at other trolleys.

Chill had it right in her post... are you so short of self-esteem that you need to try to extract some by demeaning the behaviour of others you feel are less worthy than you?

... and you're a parent.. yikes.. Hmm

SandStorm · 26/01/2011 16:15

Okay then.

Firstly, you don't know that she lives like this - you've seen ONE trolley's worth of food. It's a snapshot, not chapter and verse on the state of her larder.

Secondly, my trolley looked just like that last week prior to my daughter's birthday party.

Thirdly, there are all sorts of reasons the child might have been grubby, not all of which are sinister.

Fourthly, the tattoo ... no, can't come up with a good reason for that one.

reelingintheyears · 26/01/2011 16:17

Do you mean her finger tips or her finger nails.
Confused

Bogeyface · 26/01/2011 16:18

Cant read anymore, still got tears running down my face at the thought of "fruit samples" being available in any supermarket, never mind Asda! :o:o:o:o
