I knew football was sexist but this has really pissed me off!

How dare they think they can say that? It made me so angry that they judged someone's knowledge of the game on their gender.

They've been suspended from commentating tonight but it hasn't made me any less angry...

Personally I'm not surprised. Such "banter" is common sadly. Even if one wasn't upset about the sexist nature of it it's SO unprofessional to be chatting like that behind someones back while on air (yes I do know they thought they were off air, no excuse). Even more embarrassing for Sky when 'everyone' agrees the referee did(and do) a really good job in that match. So their not just sexists piggy piggy's but also rubbish commentators. Good on Sky for taking them off air. Surely there are better talent they can draw on in future.

If they had been making comments on the basis of soneones race, religion or sexuality, can you imagine the fall out!
Pity sexism is cosidered fair banter by these morons.

We were talking about this earlier and my mom said that it was their own opinion (right or wrong) and it was meant to be a private conversation.

I did say to her whether it was meant to be private or not why say it at all, was she doing something really wrong for them to be talking about her!

No, just because of her being female and it is not fair to her, even if she weren't meant to hear that!
