It cleans up the crumbs under DD's highchair when I am too lazy pregnant to vacuum every day.

one mouse turns into lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots.

Catch it and leave it somewhere miles away, if you cant kill it

KathyImLost · 22/01/2011 19:54

They don't clean up their own poo though, do they.

debka · 22/01/2011 19:58

forgot about poo. what eats mouse poo? I'll get one of them :)

they scent mark by constantly peeing on their feet and dabbling it around the house, so crumbs or mouse pee??? I know which I'd rather clear up.

and as I already said on another mouse thread, there is no such thing as a bachelor mouse...there will be a family of them at least.

TheCrackFox · 22/01/2011 20:03

More likely a Morman family of mice to boot.

justcarrots29 · 22/01/2011 20:05

Get humane trap. It could be a mummy mouse waiting to pop in some nice cosy corner filled with crumbs and near a nice lady that like to feed them...

debka · 22/01/2011 20:06

i know, i know... will Set the Trap tonight.

You can't housetrain a mouse. They have no sphincters, so can't help leaving a trail of wee.

FromGirders · 22/01/2011 20:08

Mice have no bladder control, they wee constantly, and can transmit Weil's disease. Also, they poo every six minutes (meaning you can work out how many mouse-hours have been spent in your cupboards Hmm )
There's a reason they are called vermin you know.
Do you let your baby crawl on the floor that they "clean up"?

(Non-mouse lover here)

FromGirders · 22/01/2011 20:08

Get a roomba

GrimmaTheNome · 22/01/2011 20:10

The best thing for clearing up under a highchair is a dog - small and shorthaired obviously so it doesn't create mess of its own or require long walkies. Our nanny said she really missed our dachshund when she moved on to a dogless family.

Every home with a toddler should have one Grin

ilythia · 22/01/2011 20:10

Kill It!!

ilovemyhens · 22/01/2011 20:48

They can start house fires by biting through the wiring.

They also pee everywhere and cause smells and disease.

They're cute, but lethal.

Ryoko · 22/01/2011 22:42

Lethal my arse stop falling for scaremongering media of companies that want you to hire them to kill everything that moves and companies trying to sell you cleaning products.

Just catch it in a humane trap and let it out a few miles away in a park or something.

Rainydaze · 22/01/2011 22:47

Cut off the food supply (clean up!) and the little fella will soon disappear. Humane traps are great. Please don't kill him!

TimeForACHEEKYWine · 22/01/2011 22:49

kill it. we get them in our rafters - TBH Hmm think iv heard one last night!

SecretNutellaFix · 22/01/2011 22:49

get a cat- that should do the job for you.

igetmorelovefromthecat · 22/01/2011 22:51

I'm a tofu welding, lentil weaving vegetarian, but I say KILL THE FUCKER.

Before you know it your house will stink of mice and you will have mouse shit everywhere, including your beds.

Rainydaze · 22/01/2011 22:57

Hmm you don't need to kill him to get rid of him. Humane traps are really good, and it's much more pleasant all round to release the little chap.

hormonalmum · 22/01/2011 23:04

Im with igetmore KILL THE FUCKERS.

twirlymum · 22/01/2011 23:05

I started a mouse thread a while ago. Someone recommended Rodine, it is bloody fabulous! No more tiny poos all over the place!
And the wiring will be safe too Grin

KnittedBreast · 23/01/2011 13:40

please dont hurt the mouse.

Sn0wflake · 23/01/2011 13:49

Save the mouse. It's just a little creature trying to live it's life. We fuck things up for the world a lot more.

EricNorthmansMistress · 23/01/2011 15:36

I'm a lentil weaver type and bought a humane trap to get rid of the mouse (singular) that was living in our kitchen. After several days of no success and waking up one morning to a mouse running over my arm in bed, I called pest control in. They estimated 15 mice or more from the amount of droppings and holes. Humane trap my arse.

steamedtreaclesponge · 23/01/2011 16:12

Humane traps aren't ideal anyway - if you let a house mouse free in a field somewhere it'll get eaten or starve to death fairly sharpish. And if you use poison they just die under the floorboards and in cupboards and make the house smell.

Get a cat! They're good at cleaning up food spillages too...
