To think that your completed medical questionnaires should be returned to you

I've gone for lots of jobs in my time and for most I've had to complete a medical questionnaire at the time of application or interview. My health background is quite sensitive and I think that the information should be returned to me if I don't get the job, but it never is.

Well the form belongs to the company, so it would be kept (presumably) in their confidential files. It is not standard procedure to return application forms or questionnaires to applicants within any organisation as far as I am aware.

You could request that the form be destroyed if you were unsuccessful for the position.

I've always wondered about this and the security of the data kept on me. I've never seen any reference to how 'my' data is kept, and for how long. This is something that surely should be made clear when these firms are collecting the data.

It's not the sort of thing you want to bring up while applying for a job - I would be worried I would be marked out as a trouble maker.
